Manchester United have now officially won their 31st trophy, beating Mansfield Town 4:1 in the Charity Shield. Would much rather have RR still here. Chance at another trophy tomorrow but before we play, @CrackersJr needs to ask himself this: "Do I really want to break my streak of only winning the SMFA Shield?"

See! It'd only be 8th on the squad value list.

QPR
  • FFP = 58
  • Bid accepted = 5 (Castillejo, Origi, Schoff, Pedraza, Ihatteran), 1 P/E
  • Current number of players = 55
  • 55+5-1 = 59 > 58
Ban QPR please

@Damien Wolves should be transfer banned.

Nothing personal at all and @Wino1 sorry for brining it up but I also got banned for having an accepted bid over FFP which was my first ban while at QPR as they are considered a part of FFP.

Rules are rules even though I sympathise massively on this one. For what it’s worth I’d be more than happy for this rule to not apply in future but as things stand it has been broken.

In the case of wolves transfer ban, I'd be in favour of him not getting a ban because he had sent a message declaring to cancel the deal for which he forgot.

BUT, as southend got banned because of a matter of minutes, rules are rules.
Ban should be upheld.

It’s a harsh one but I’ve been punished for having an accepted bid despite cancelling and also having another player accepted and outgoing before.

I think it’s only consistent to ban otherwise why make an exception for one person and not everyone else? The rule is either existing or not.

Nothing against Wolves on this but I don’t see how it would be fair to not punish them the same as everyone else who has fallen foul of the rule.

A bans a ban for fairness in the league, wouldn't want to discriminate against liked and non liked

It isn't a case of that, otherwise greeny and many others wouldn't have been banned in the first place. I think it just exposes the fundamental problem of the FFP law - we introduced it mainly to help talent be spread around more and to stop people from bidding on new players in the database when they're at squad cap, and up to this point all of the bans have been related to that in some way.

In Wino's case, he bid on Perisic a week or so ago prior to the draft, and he was in line with FFP. He was then told by Gythio that the price bid wasn't enough, Wino said "fair enough, I'm not bidding more than that" and left it at that. Gythio didn't reject the submitted bid and Wino didn't withdraw it, but for all intense and purposes, Wino was 100% convinced that the deal was over so moved on with the draft. Around the time, Benito "verbally agreed" a deal with Gythio for max cash value and vocalised it, further reinforcing in Wino's mind that the deal was dead.

Out of Wino's control, Gythio accepted Wino's bid after Wino was at the cap. As soon as he noticed that Gythio accepted the bid without Wino's consent, Wino mentioned it in the chat and cancelled the deal. If Wino hadn't mentioned the deal, we wouldn't have been aware he was hitting/over the cap. He could have just cancelled the deal and we would be none the wiser.

My reluctance to instaban is solely on the basis that this could open a whole new can of worms in that (and I'm not saying Gythio did this) people could encourage cash bids on their players, wait up to two weeks for one of the bidders to be at their cap and accept the bid that the bidder forgot about in the first place resulting in a transfer ban for that team, and that is why I wanted there to be some discussion before handing it out.

Would be okay with applying common sense in this instance as bid in question was not in midst of bidding war.

It did affect my negotiations so I don’t think you could claim it had no impact.

I personally think season long bans are crazy having just served one for a game bug but I served it. Surely a month ban would suffice in this circumstance?

What was stopping Wino removing the bid when he was rejected for negotiation?

We’re all responsible for our bids.

As i am not aware of your negotiations, how did it effect it? Price seemed like FV.

The second part of your post is true. We are in the end responsible for our bids.

Because without an intervening bid Perisic to Cardiff was the option for max cash. The existence of Wino’s bid affected that deal.

There was competiton for the player that would not have existed without him.

Not the best start to the European season but a win is a win - 2:0 victory against AC Milan. Next up: one of my many bogey teams.

The fact that common sense wasnt applied with Southend when they had a mere matter of minutes between accepting and cancelling an offer suggest the ban should be upheld.
I think if anything it should just be reduced to a month, and not a full season, and that should be the precedent going forwards.

Nor was it applied when SM bugged out on my second ban.

Having just served a season long ban for that I’m not sure how it’s fair to discriminate in this case to be honest.

Bugged out, how do you mean?
I had accepted an outgoing bid before an incoming one. SM bugged out and according to others profiles one player moved later than the other.

I even provided the screenshots of my profile to show it.

Based on what i read your bid was affected for whole other reason.

Regardless, quite a few people feel the ban has to be upheld to avoid inconsistency going forward. Guess it will apply then.

It would be second violation for Wino.
  • 1st violation: 1 month
  • 2nd violation: 1 SM season
