Manchester United sign Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham

2vIKDNW.png

Manchester United are delighted to confirm the signings of Trent Alexander-Arnold (21, and hereby known as 'Trent' in lineups) and Jude Bellingham (16) as well as a cash windfall of £40M in a deal that sees United legend Joshua Kimmich (25) go in the other direction.

"We were preparing for Tuesday's cup game against Liverpool when the Everton manager made this offer to us out of nowhere," said United manager Damien.

"It was an incredible offer to us, and one that we felt that we couldn't turn down despite having our own problems in midfield and centre back that the absence of Kimmich will just exacerbate further.

"There is a good chance this will derail us for the rest of the season, seeing such a huge seismic shift in the team's chemistry, but in the long term I think it will be worth it. We are glad to welcome Trent and Jude to the team and wish both Kimmich and Everton's manager all the best in their future careers."

This transfer sees the first of the United players involved in 'the Messi deal' back in 2017 leave the club. The infographic below shows how the deal back then has impacted upon Spurs and United and has affected deals with other teams since.

He's another one about to turn 22 though but still a nice young player along with Sancho, Mbappe and Pulisic.

Before the season started, I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to get any inter-league transfers done. Now, just over a third of the way into the season I've done:

Ruben Dias (23/90 CB) IN, John Stones (25/91 CB/RB) and Santi Mina (24/89 FW) OUT
Jan Oblak (27/95 GK) IN, David De Gea (29/93 GK) and Dele Alli (24/92 CM) OUT
Trent Alexander-Arnold (21/92 RB) and Jude Bellingham (16/78 CM/RM) IN, Joshua Kimmich (25/94) OUT

Decent little rebuild - and I managed to win a bidding war.

Ramos and Kroos are the main 'problems' in my squad in that I need to replace them, but hopefully one of the young options I have can step up before they decrease.

Just buy De Ligt and Upamencano to replace Ramos and Aouar to replace Kroos...

Signing done the 7th May.

Transfer ban started 8th May. Signing was done before the ban happened and I think it was greeny bidding on Velasco as well as another player that triggered the ban in the first place.

I have nothing against smiley. Even the stain is my boy even if he didn't accept me apology.

Just making sure I get the same treatment me next violation(s)
That post of Benito's you quoted was a few hours before I came on and greeny's ban was formally added to the OP. To be clear, under any circumstances, being banned then during the transfer ban putting in a fresh bid for a player and that transfer going through is not acceptable and is not what happened there. I think we addressed it at the time and there's no fresh rule breaches.

So to clarify, if we accidentally make bid that hits our transfer limit we won't be punished any further than the sanctions laid out, if we don't withdraw it.

That can’t be the rule otherwise plenty of people have had incorrect bans.

The bans that have happened, have happened. There will be no going back trying to give more sanctions for punishments that have been agreed at the time and I think everyone now clearly understands the rules.

If anyone accidentally makes a bid that hits their limit (emphasis on accidentally, people by now should know their own limits and the rules like the back of their hand) and are made aware of it, the expectations are the bid be withdrawn and the standard sanction be awarded. If the bid is accepted and not withdrawn, again you'll get the standard sanction unless people want to change it for future so punishment in that case is more severe, but don't think any of us want to see people leaving the league.

3:1 victory away to Newcastle but once again the opposition with one shot on target gets 100% conversion.

So I bid on 4 guys but realistically I can only sign 2 to stay in ffp.
I get a ban. then I withdraw 2 bids. But I keep 2 bids active and sign 2 players. Even though I just received a ban.
That is what I will follow.
Or maybe I'll just sell someone else.
We'll see

Lost 2:0 to Darlington. Lead down to just 9 points.

A 4-0 win over Newcastle puts us into the top 4 with the 2nd best form in the last 6 games (despite our stupid loss).

I’d be delighted with top 4 this season but if I can get through the next game with a win 3rd or potentially even 2nd place is up for grabs.

To all of the Southend transfer ban comments, let's have some common sense, his infraction was very light, a matter of minutes between him bidding on a player and him withdrawing a bid, an easy mistake to make, he didn't argue, he didn't fuss, just accepted his ban, it would be extremely harsh to be picking on the fact he didn't withdraw the bid.
Everything is relative.

2:0 victory against Norwich City with my reserves. I face Aston Villa in the next round of BOTH the Cup and Shield. Great. Also: today's game was the first of FOUR consecutive away games - this is where my league advantage really dwindles.

West Ham lose 2-0 to Cardiff who are still in both cups and currently 4th place.

Transfer ban is doing wonders for us tactically!

villa got lucky
had to play messi vvd etc to get outplayed and barely beat kabak romagna dalot etc
but i'd rather lose to villa than damien jong-un
Love you too.

Dont know how you get by with that reserve side
Technically it is a strikerless team as none of the players have F(C). Much prefer yours with Dzeko up top.
