United and Ipswich agree Dias deal

M05BiCq.png

Manchester United and Ipswich Town have today agreed a deal that will see Portuguese international Ruben Dias come to Old Trafford with England international John Stones and Grant Gustin lookalike Santi Mina going in the other direction to Portman Road along with a hefty amount of cash.

Manchester United manager Damien said the following:

"We know it was a hell of a lot to pay for Ruben - a deal with a lot of risk for us. If Dias doesn't move clubs next window, his chances of surpassing 90 are slim to zero and he has no versatility in terms of playing position. Ipswich Town are getting two hugely versatile players that will add a lot to their squad, increasing their chance of survival next season along with a fair bit of cash to further invest in the squad and that is priceless. This is a deal that took a while, but we are happy that the Ipswich manager realised the great benefits to him of this agreement.

"We want to make another signing, but that looks unlikely despite great effort on our part. Mansfield Town have been transformed by the deal we made for Sancho a few seasons ago, and are still benefiting from it to this day with them being able to exchange other players involved in that deal to strengthen their squad even further. The offers we have made to clubs over the past few weeks would, by no exaggeration, see them transformed from lower half teams into top four contenders and to me it is a pity that they don't see that as they hold great sentimental value for the players they do have. These words don't apply to all teams - for some, I can completely understand why they don't want to do business - but for others it is a mystery. If we aren't able to make any further signings, we will go on happy with the squad we currently have.

"Welcome to the squad, Ruben. We will see you in training tomorrow."
Great signing!

  1. Won the title
  2. Last 32 of Cup, Last 4 in Shield
  3. Won SMFA Super Cup and Manchester United's fifth league title
  4. Yes
Targets for next season:
  1. Finish in Top 4
  2. Last 16 in either Cup or Shield
  3. Win a trophy
  4. Get a bank balance of at least £720M (currently £701M)
  5. Get at least four points against Hereford FC

Before the fixtures are out for the new season, I'm removing the bank balance goal. Will see at the season if I do achieve it but not having it as a formal target.

Loan Cap (S14 and onwards)
  1. Applies to unmanaged clubs only
  2. Loan cap = FFP minus 40, first come first serve (e.g. if your FFP aka squad limit is 50, your loan cap = 50 - 40 = 10, which means you can only loan 10 players out to unmanaged clubs)
  3. Duration for the above - until Turn 2 every season. After Turn 2, it is free-for-all
  4. HARD RULE: Only players with rating 75 and/or above are allowed to be loaned out - if you spot someone breaking this, tell them to recall the player

I bid too early on Maehle (taken in Reading draft) - should have waited the full 14 days. I am in the process of selling and really do not expect another ban please especially given we are in off season.

I face Everton in the first round of the cup. I'm never going to have a decent cup run.

By the way @Withnail, the Charity Shield counts towards fitness of players.

The SMFA Charity Shield, usually referred to as the Charity Shield, is a competition organised by the SMFA between the domestic league champions and the winners of the domestic cup within all Game Worlds. It is a single match that takes place at the start of the domestic season. If the match is a draw after 90 minutes have been played, then penalties are taken to decide who will lift the trophy.

Charity Shields are treated like normal Domestic Cup games, in other words fitness is taken into account and also deducted. Players will be able to pick up an injury whilst playing for their club. Also a player could pick up a suspension, but this will only apply for domestic competitions.

Good luck for Friday.

Greeny I think my squad should be 57. Perhaps the 14 year old doesn’t get shown in the normal squad.
How long do I have to sell players and bring myself within the ffp limit

Plymouth Argyle - Maxi Gomez (£17.6M), by 17-Apr
Blackburn Rovers - Yannick Carrasco (£21M), by 20-Apr
Newcastle Utd - Anthony Lopes (£17.4M), by 23-Apr
Aston Villa - Ross Barkley (£19,876,000), by 24-Apr

Still waiting.

And I'd be in a worse position adding to my pile of players who are on the decline
You didn't even include them in your team illustration pic
I'm sure I did.

Lost the Charity Shield (1:1 reg time, lost 5:4 on pens). Had a feeling that'd be the case with my tactics suddenly not working as well in pre-season. Congrats Withnail.

After tonight, Maxi Gomez will be available but won't be able to do bidding war until about a week after I resign. How long that will be depends on how quickly the other bids go through.
Could we not have a vote for the best bid haha

Cheers Dude!

I only just checked the result now. I was sure I'd get a pasting.

Well at the very least I need the 500 grand more than you. :D
