Gaming The SM RedCafe League

So correct me if I'm wrong but this is where we're at with FFP transfer bans?

  • Mciahel Goodman - until 7th September
  • Cass, gaz, Dans & Redsky - until 4th October

Ah, that'right.. Difficult to predict your FFP and be pro-active when you're promoted. Did promotion affect anyone other than RS? That is kind of harsh. There should be a rule for this circumstance i reckon. Sell within 2 weeks or something.

Harsh for gaz and Dans as it is all due to stadium increase
When this happens due to promotion/stadium expansion at the start of a season there should be a different rule. It would apply to RS, gaz and Dans now so they shouldn't be transfer banned. Make a new rule that they have to get back to squad cap within X days. Cass should get a ban, though.

3 actually

2 for promoted to Div 1, 1 for stadium capacity increase

I was on 61 last year though. So if it's 3 why is it on 57 :nono:

We normally have a few days to sort this out because nobody can predict the stadium increases. So Bans are ridiculous. Give us a few days to sort it out like you've done with others thank you. I've been trying to sell Bennacer and Lucas for days with no AI bids.

@RedSky FFP for last season

Man City applications are closed. People interested:
@BenitoSTARR (Queens Park Rangers)
@gaz1185 (Kidderminster Harriers)
@Ravelation (Ipswich Town)
@Springfield WildCats (Milton Keynes Dons)
@Wino1 (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

You all have until this time tomorrow to submit writeups (can be a sentence or a paragraph) saying why people should pick you/why you'd like the job (can do this either by PMing me or posting in thread - though if you post in thread then the others will know what you put), then the rest of the league will vote on who they think should get it. Good luck guys.

So am I banned from transfer activity or not? I have a few more in the pipe and am waiting for a host of AI bids.

No more incomings until you're below FFP.

Cassady was so far over FFP with no mitigating circumstances (promotion or stadium increase) that he's banned from signing players until 4th October - I can't get on SM right now so if anyone can let him know that'd be great.

@Dans, @gaz1185, @RedSky to transfer list the required number of players to get back in the black and until then to not sign any players. You all have until Sunday to work towards getting back in line with FFP. If there are no signs then you may get a transfer ban.

Ok a
Aye @Dans we're banned from signing anyone atm. If we do, we'll be transfer banned for a month. So suggest you get your squad size down first.
Ok but one transfer went through overnight... I'll cancel the other ongoing. I am 2 over I think but have already accepted two bids and have 4 more on the transfer list

''An exciting new Manager, with the skill to match his gusto''

I've been a devout part of the RedCafe lurkers since 2011, I challenge you to find another member with as little post counts in 7 years. One could say, I am the Lurker.
A full member, plus a Tag line that screams ''Chat sh*t get banged", or ''Once had a meltdown in a thread about dancing'', I'll let you lot figure out which one.

I've played SoccerManager many moons ago, and have always been itching to play again, but don't have the friends to do so, (because they don't play football manager games, Not because I'm lonely.
I've got quite a high reputation on SM, (deity), and fully comprehend the ins and outs of what it takes to manage a title winning squad.
In all honesty I'm not sure I could convince you all of my right to the City throne over Sir Wino, or Gaz. They've both been in the league far longer than I have, they've both demonstrated dedication and perseverance, and probably have great relationships with the rest of the managers in the league.
But, saying that, I don't feel I need to prove myself in comparison to longevity otherwise this would be a pretty easy vote and Gaz would win.
This is an election, in which every candidate deserves and equal chance to manage City, it's not something that we should be able to walk into on the back of past glory, or the lack of. It's equally not something which we should attain because of how many friends we have in the league, but rather a vote that should be earned via our appeal.

This league does not need another manager, playing the traditional timid approach of buying low, investing lengthily, and selling timidly, It needs a revelation (all sorts of puns intended).
I'm a manager who promises to be daring and risky, I won't just sit on a perfectly fine squad of players and bide my time to do anything with the team.
I've built upon a solid core at Ipswich, and was truthfully aiming to win Div 2 this coming season. If I attain the City job, I'd be aiming to win Div 1, In my first season, and though a lot may see it as unrealistic, considering the squads in Div 1, I promise it's well within my skillset, I've already beaten a full strength Everton side in a friendly, and have yet to lose my first game.
I promise fireworks with City, and whoever inherits the Ipswich squad can count on the same.
And if I'm yet to still convince you of my credentials, my potential success or my appetite for this Position, I present to you, my secret weapon.
Enjoy.

Your next Div 1 Title Winner,
and sincerely,
Ravelation.

Mate, was quite happy to possibly lose to Gaz as he deserves it as much as anyone but I’d also gladly lose to you now lmao. Great work :D

I LOLd in office at the crackers-frank castle bit

That bit about Crackers was the too funny. :lol:

Must say the few newbies we have had into the league recently have livened it up.

Can have a week to sort my team out? That means I'd like to conduct transfers and commit to being at FPP after 7 days.

Pulgar and Tagliafico just sold so I should now be at 52.
