The Second RedCafe Sheep Draft

3) What happens if I get a block?
If double-blocked you can switch to any other WC and round.

One final confirmation. Let's say I pick a match with 4 carded players and choose 2. If BOTH are blocked, I'm not restricted to the same match even though there are 2 carded players remaining (assuming they are not in blocked list). I just move to another match.

Can you confirm on this? @Skizzo

Think this has been confirmed already. If BOTH your picks are blocked, you are free to move on to any match you like. It's only when ONE pick gets blocked that you're stuck in that particular match/round.

I just hope I get both or neither.

Look what I found in my basement.. :lol: Everyone is going to get a dose of this from now!

You are kidding right?

Which of these isn't a sheep then? I'm clear which one isn't, and I gave you an alternative, but you are happy with it.

It's the guy who got Puskas complaining. Ferenc fecking Puskas, will probably wind up being the best player in the draft by a mile yet he wants people to get Rafa Benítez in midfield. The problem with Rafa Benítez is there aren't 9 sheep of similar standing, whoever gets him is getting fecked. Royally.

@Edgar Allan Pillow: Nereo Rocco, midfielder
@BorisDeLeFora: Bela Guttman, centre-half
@Cutch: Valeriy Lobanovsky, forward
@sajeev: Fabio Capello, midfielder
@Joga Bonito: Albert Batteux, attacking midfielder
@MJJ: Ottmar Hitzfeld, striker
@Kazi: Jock Stein, centre-half
@MDFC Manager: Bill Shankly, right-half
@Raees: Matt Busby, right-half

Fat Rafa is not getting in. And that's a fact!

Can't decide. Certain at least one of these pairings have gone, but which one. :mad:

The question is how many are as stupid and greedy as me? I am guessing only 6.

I think my strategy of going for the first player I think off isn't going to work.

Based on the last round, it probably will.

So much overthinking going on that the likes of Haan and Zebec got blocked, while Armfield, Happel, Simeone and Luis Fernández went through unscathed. Simeone was such an obvious pick... so nobody picked him :lol:

finally sent my pick in. fingers crossed!

Ah fecksorry for the wait folks. Somthing important came up and I've only just got free. Have only gone throuhg a few WCs so far so will be making full use of these last few minutes before the deadline

Submitted. If anyone's yet to submit they better not get extra time after I rushed through mine!

You're right to gamble on it - it's certain to be either double block or double GOAT. And there are enough good choices left that missing out on one round probably won't matter.

Guys I'm finding the deadlines impossible to work with.I finish work at like 7! Could we extend them to 00:00 evening time? Otherwise Im going to pull out at this rate :/

as you can tell from my first round picks they were half arsed efforts purely through lack of time available for me.

I'm with you there, didn't get much done this time around. The criteria required painstaking research, impossible on a weekday. When it's something that isn't easy to research I'm in favour of longer deadlines.

Strange, but I guess you might have done even more extensive research than I have done, at least. I actually found it quite easy to do research for this criteria, but I guess I might have skimmed over details that you and Raees might have cared about.

All I want is to be able to come home and have chance to do some research. As it is, I'm struggling big time.

I reckon at least 50% of the 32 players will be blocked.

I reckon this round will leave behind a clear divide between the haves and the havenots. But boy there will be haves galore...

You can do every WC red/yellow card ever in about an hour. Pre-70s is a bit of an arse though but you would already have 15-20 options by then.

In theory it could be a huge divide too. If certain gambles (which some will have made, of that there can be little doubt) pay off here, it will be a question of winning the lottery versus getting your house burned down (for those sods who lose in this round).

Ideally, it will be GOAT blocks all over the shop - no clear winners, everyone forced to think outside the box a bit.

I actually thought the pool was very small with many certain blocks. I think there might be sheep/crap picks galore tbh
