Wouldn't mind seeing a Tiger v. Harrington final match

Wouldn't mind seeing a Tiger v. Harrington final match

Well they didn't miss Tiger for the foursomes/balls but he was good for a point in the singles. In all fairness Harrington is playing like crap and carrying and injury.

I can't wait to see Kim vs Garcia....that mightl be a firecracker.

What's wrong with Paddy? Broken leg and torn ACL? hahaa. He is great golfer probably the best besides Tiger at the moment, but no one is anywhere near Tiger's level

He has something up with his neck or back. Haven't you seen the physiotherapist giving him neck massages between holes. He should have probably dropped out and let Clark take his place.

Nope, didnt watch any today, watched some footy in the morning, did some shoppin and went to a movie in the afternoon, it had just finished up when I got back

Looking at those singles there are some good games, and Europe might just get the seven points needed to retain the cup. Should be a fun day.

Oh I agree, it's certainly no guarantee for the US, there is no doubt about it

That Karlson miss on the 18th might be very significant by tomorrow evening. On paper the Europeans look a little stronger in the singles but the American team seem to be up for it. Its at times like this you need characters like Monty and Clark to rally the troops, I don't think they have many characters like that now.

My guess is America lose the singles 5.5 to 6.5 but win the cup

The next player on the Ryder Cup table would have been included though. Faldo wouldn't have got to pick another wildcard.

To be fair, Harrington has been playing ok and making a lot of birdies. His driving has been a bit wayward though.

Garcia is also playing shit. I wouldn't mind seeing McDowell take on one of the top Americans, Mickelson or Mahan. McDowell is playing tremendous stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

I think the Europeans will win the singles but it probably won't be enough. Karlsson has missed a few of those. And that was a really bad putt when it really mattered. It should be a point closer, which would have meant Europe just had to win the singles to retain the cup.

I didn't see the pairings until now.

Sunday's singles matches:
1703 Kim v Garcia
1714 Mahan v Casey
1725 Leonard v Karlsson
1736 Mickelson v Rose
1747 Perry v Stenson
1758 Weekley v Wilson
1809 Holmes v Hansen
1820 Furyk v Jimenez
1831 Cink v McDowell
1842 Stricker v Poulter
1853 Curtis v Westwood
1904 Campbell v Harrington

That looks good for Europe. Harrington has got a man not playing great. Rose will have a chance of beating Mickelson.

Pick your winners, winners in bold, a half in italics.

Mahan v Casey

Leonard v Karlsson

Mickelson v Rose

Perry v Stenson

Weekley v Wilson

Holmes v Hansen

Furyk v Jimenez

Cink v McDowell

Stricker v Poulter

Curtis v Westwood

Campbell v Harrington

That'd be 7 to 5 in favour of Europe, therefore retaining the cup.

Difficult to predict, always a few who disappoint and a few who surprise. From a betting point of view I back players who maybe were a little unlucky so far. Paul Casey is my nap! If Rose can beat Mickelson I think that could change the whole picture. Jimenez is a personal fav of mine I hope he pisses all over Furyk. Good days sport all round !

Any one you thinking of backing Europe? They're @ 3.6 on Betfair.. think they will trade lower later tonight so a chance of greening out

Debating it at the moment. Might do them to retain it

Sack Faldo. Sell Garcia.

WHat a start in the first match. Kim puts it to within 5 feet for the birdie. Garcia hits his second in in an identical shot. This is going to be quality.

Garcia hits water, crowd cheer like they have won the world cup,kim walks towards hole waving arms about to get crowd to cheer more. have they ever heard of respect ?.Anyhow not looking good for europe at the moment.

The American commentator just referred to Garcia as "an annoying little nat" -- why should the crowd have respect if the commentators can even pretend to behave?:nono:

Been at the pub all day

Can anyone give me and update on whats been happening?

The Americans have played the better golf. Great team effort so far, props o Azinger.

Yeah its looking good for the Americans allright....if they finish it off congrats to them.

Azinger, well its hard to like him to be honest....he's been a bit of a knob to be fair

i'm streaming this now but its an American channel so i'm finding it very hard to get a grasp of what exactly is the current status.
Are the euro's pratcically out of it or what?

10-7 i can get but any idea of whats the score with the rest of the matches?

No, its not over. Europe are up in four,

and two are halved, with the US only up by one shot in three matches. The Europeans needs 3 of those five games to go their way.

I posted before he went two up, and its only thru six holes, so plenty of time in that game.

Its starting to get real tight now.

Should be a grandstand finish.

Got to say the players have ALL been very sporting when the games have ended. Its been a great Ryder Cup, some amazing golf and clutch putting.

Whats the target to win here? 14 1/2 for the yanks? What do Europe need to retain?
