The root of Manutd's problems

The 4-4-2 formation was bringing some pride to OT yet playing Veron part time (with Scholes) was
too much for SAF. Both Scholes and Veron seemed unhappy of the situation and knowing that all Manutd supporters (+ board) would have preferred losing Veron rather than Scholes (this would mean a 28M blunder in Fergie’s imaculate CV) SAF returned to his 4-4-1-1 formation.

The results were Disastrous with Manutd finishing trophysless and 3 in the EL.

I only now had time to read the whole thing and I have to saw I strongly disagree. According to you, we became terrific again when playing 4-4-2, and then later on last season returned to 4-4-1-1 which ruined our season. Thats just wrong. 4-4-1-1 might well have done the damage early in the season, but not later on.

Agree with Amir. Guys I didn’t get what this longest thread about. Is Larry or even all our defense line the very root of our problems? Absolutely no. So why is this fierce debate about Blanc? Lets him to play this season (and may be next one), then he’ll be retired.

we're simply discussing that we don't think larry is good enough for us - not for us to win the EPL anyway. of coz.. keep him here why not.. i don't mind.. he's teaching our younger lads a lot of things.. first and foremost - NOT TO BE SLOW LIKE HIM.

You're thicker than I thought!

I'm off to Manchester now to watch Blanc be superb tomorrow.

last thing, i hope you get a good seat in OT this weekend when Blanc vs Anelka. we're gonna win this game, but Barthez will have to save the day. i see blanc getting caught out a few times this game. he will get his deserved 7 or 8 for the rating because he has tried, but he won't stop anelka.

You need a very good seat at OT to see the Maine Road derby. I'll have a better view on television.

You spend a lot of time in this thread saying you don't slate Blanc but read what you have written in the above paragraph and elsewhere in the thread. How do you expect to be taken seriously when you change your opinion so often?

If speed is the most importent skill a football can have, how come Linford Christe never played for Utd?

Because he isn't a football. I've never seen a football playing for any other team anyway.

how have i been changing my mind mate?

i maintain that:

Blanc is performing to his best - which is not good enough for United. Then i explain why he isn't.

How is that called changing my mind? i said i'm satisfied with what i'm getting from him, but i know we can have better.

of coz i want him to do well and i wish him all the luck he will need to take us to the CL and league title. he's going to completely wear out Gaz and Rio for needing to cover his ass the whole season.. but so what.. it's only 60 more games right?

it's not the most important thing, it would help if you could kick the ball properly.

you know that speed does become a big factor. like i said, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that Anelka will not be on top form today and isn't marked by Blanc.

the best of blanc isn't good enough for United 60 games a year. It JUST isn't.

it could be in the tactic too.. someone in here said hyypia could play well without speed because of the formation they use that doesn't require him to take the ball up high and expose the defence. maybe that's the problem..

so either way, blanc doesn't fit with our system because we need a quicker CB to perform the job that SAF ask of him. that's why everyone has been praising O'Shea.. because he does this perfectly.

The time has come imo to find a EPL side, and stick with it.

Barthez
Neville G
O'Shea
Ferdinand
Silvestre
Beckham
Keane
Scholes/Butt
Giggs
Ruud
Ole

As soon as possible, these players should be used and regardless of results, persevered with, because that's the only way they will gel as a team.

I'm heartily sick of hearing that it doesn't matter if Blanc is slow, or that Veron is world-class.

Second that Livvie.
Gary Neville is a no-no though.
Stick with the team, no more bloody South Americans.
Speed is what we need, Veron slows us down.

NO COMMENT only that Anelka was terrific and goater looked like RONALDINHO. For God sake if Blanc is NOT leading our defense And NOT reaching our rival forwards then WHY WE PLAY HIM?

GROW UP PPL saying that everything is perfect doesnt show your loyalty it shows your STUPIDITY

Great defense btw Man City looked like Real Madrid
