Film The Redcafe Movie review thread

The little guy is pretty seedy. I find it slightly amusing and odd how people get het up and freaked out about these niche films- the Guardian went ape-shit when the original plot had that guy wrapping his cock in barbed wire to rape a woman, but the BBFC banned it. I'm not sure it will inspire crazy youths to go out and emulate.
I am watching it now, cheers for that !
I agree he is a seedy little perv, with a taste for very violent death.

Von Trier would be proud of the black and white scenes. He's actually an OK baddie in the Himmler-style banality of evil way. The first Hostel conquered and owned this genre for me though.

Human Centipede II

:eek::eek: WTF have I just watched, never before has a film made me feel like puking.
This is just sick and twisted for the sake of it , even worst than the first film.
It was like watching a crime scene, I have watched some sick films but this takes the prize for me.
I would never ever recommend this to anybody , not even somebody that like this sort of film.
I feel like need a shower I feel violated and traumatised.

:lol:I feel part to blame for your unfortunate violation. It really isn't that bad, more silly than anything. When the weird little guy is clubbing people to death he barely looks like he has the strength to lift the stick, let alone smash someone's skull with it. There's a third one apparently.

After years of watching trash and countless hours in front of sub-standard low budget horror flicks, we've finally found pauldy's breaking point. Bravo, Human Centipede II.

The first one was decent, the second one was already a step down for me.

And yes, there is a third one and it's absolutely abysmal. Well worth a watch if you want to find out how bad a movie can be.

I thought the second was possibly better than the first one, given how woeful the acting is in the first. Made me laugh when the Chinese guy said: 'Shit. I have to shit.' and the woman behind him started squirming. The trailer for the third one is abysmal, which is worrying given it's meant to be the best bits.
I thought @pauldyson1uk would've been hardened to this stuff from years of watching the likes of Hostel, Island of Death and A Serbian Film.

Tropical Malady - I liked the first part but I must admit that my mind started to drift at times. I found the second and more mystical part really soothing however, almost trancelike. Great sound design.

City of Pirates
- Loved it, a largely unseen schizophrenic masterpiece. Amazing soundtrack and cinematography. Judging by the title, I expected some sort of Treasure Island romp with a twist but man was I wrong. It might just sneak it's way on my top 100.

The first one was bad but strangely watchable, second, well know know what I thought about it, dont think 3rd one will be touched by me.

To be honest I am not really a fan of his sort of film.
I have watched a few but cant say I enjoy them.

Are you sure about the third? You don't know what you're missing, it's a unique experience!

If you were seriously disturbed by THC 2 then don't go near A Serbian Film
The film that disturbed me the most was Antichrist. Where THC and Serbian Film were horrendous, it always seemed over the top, fake and badly acted whereas Antichrist seemed so much more real, mainly due to competent actors/director.

Antichrist was good but didn't have that disturbing effect on me, most paranormal shit doesn't to be fair. It's the more potentially realistic stuff that usually gets to me.

That penis scene in Antichrist was sick, it was very graphic...

The spoiler is the reason that stuck in my head... that film scarred me for life.

I have seen that , I posted this.

Antichrist.

About a couple who lose there child after he falls out of a window ,while they are having sex in another room.
The mother takes it badly and is in hospital for a while, the farther a shrink decides that he will treat her. They go to a cabin in the woods and all starts to go wrong

The most disturbing film I have ever seen.In fact the first 5 mins nearly had me turning it off. There is violent sex and some brutal violence.
There is only 2 people in it William Defoe and Charlotte Gainsborough and both were excellent.

I found it uncomfortable to watch in places but I did enjoy the film has a whole , maybe enjoy is not the right word for this film.

I would recommend watching it it

The original Last House on the Left was pretty gruesome, despite being heavily censored. The cut scenes to the idiot cops were strange mood-wise, throwing a bit of Laurel & Hardy in there in between scenes of graphic, often sexual, violence.

There's a great interview with Wes Craven, where Craven is talking about the cuts they needed to make to get the R rating. In the end they gave up, put all the cuts they made back in and just slapped a R rated certified shot at the beginning of the movie. Totally illegal but it worked.

Yeah, I had some special director's cut edition with an interview in it. I might be remembering it wrong, but didn't all the stuff about making the women piss on each other and the baddie leader carving his initials on her got cut. I might be mixing it up with I Spit on Your Grave.

The.Human.Centipede.III

Hated it , not because it was sick and twisted , hated it because it was just BAD.
Dieter Laser as Bill Boss annoyed the hell out of me, in the end I wanted to stitch his lips to an arsehole and the bug eyes freak form the second film Laurence R. Harvey was no better, the pair of them were out acted by Bree Olson a porn star ?
But while the film doesn't wimp out on the deviancy, it does suffer from a major problems that make it a very unsatisfying experience overall. The prison setting, which is so implausible that it renders the whole movie utterly ridiculous. The first two films, while unlikely, were at least vaguely plausible: it was possible to believe that a raving lunatic might try to stitch a few folks ass-to-mouth out of curiosity, but the notion that the head of a large correctional facility could do the same, with the co-operation of his staff, is absurd, even for a comedy/horror it was a daft idea.
OH and the death rape scene WTF !!!
I gave 2, -million/10 this is worse than that one for different reasons, I feel cheated out of watching a sick film !!

The Secrets of Emily Blair.

Your typical possession film.
It has all the main ingredients, including a girl tied to a bed, vomit, there has to be vomit, swearing and curseing, everything lifted straight from the How to make a Possession Film Handbook.
Colm Meaney (Star Trek TNG) and Adrian Paul (Highlander TV series) did nothing to make this any better from the many other possession films out there.
Ellen Hollman as Emily Blair was about the best of a very average lot.
Overall, this film could have been a lot better if they worked with the story a little more and had better direction given to the main actor and priest. Other than that, Emily's character was done well.
But it was better than I expected it to be.

He has been pretty friendly so far. Should I be worried?
