He had the same problem as you do but compounded. Zambrotta could play either side but whoever he picked would settle the side and the best Zambrotta upgrades are RBs. It follows he was shit scared of Garrincha (and Best as Jayvin has nailed him to the right with the Giggs pick, Giggs-Best :eek: ).

It's quite interesting this, there were never going to be enough wide men for all teams to deploy them but, conversely, fullbacks are always left late and some teams were going to struggle get them. The draw for the first knockout could completely destroy a team with crap fullbacks before the game even starts, and I see you too have closed the 50s down :nono:

It's really weird, it's like all the players people need are trapped in there.

Yeah unless you have as good an advantage in some other part of the pitch to counter it, it would be quite tough.

Check out who still has the 50s open and doesn't need a fullback or needs a goalkeeper, you can probably ride that for a while actually.
 
Bergmark was literally a thought I had a couple hours back. I have had a plan in place the whole way which is silly to divert from now tbh.

Brwned, that was a bit of a disservice. Neville was never one of the best right backs in the world. He was consistent, reliable and a great foil for Becks but not a worldie to me.
 
BTW guys, this may sound extremely odd but it just struck me there are no Uruguayans on this and it's unlikely there will be any at this rate.

I mentioned earlier how I was in two minds about players I didn't want to miss out and, despite it royally screwing me tactically (can't move Hierro to midfield at all as the other two CBs are lefties), would anyone mind if I switched my Campbell pick to Ronald (i.e. Paolo)?

There was no one after me needing a CB and with a 70s slot open bar Cutch so it really boils down to his view.

Cutch, if you want him that's fine as it's mission accomplished anyway, but don't want him to miss out on the fun. In fact, you may even prefer Sol, which is why I say it now before you have picked without that option (I thought Costacurta was your man all along if available).

I know this will wind up biting me in the arse somehow, but it's one of those things... I'm a sentimental feck sometimes, believe it or not :cool:

Edit: BTW, Cutch, just noticed you have no rush to make any sort of decision on your 70s pick until the last round so let's leave it until then so you don't give your game away. The point is made before you pick though. If you are not picking Paolo we'll discuss it then.

Btw, was looking for Gk from the dreaded 30's. Felt like hit a jackpot, finding this one superb Gk. Checked the picked list, and found out Ehole-n has picked him up. Bastardo.
 
I've been getting far too into this one. I arsed up every draft I've been in. O e we did with current players, bollocksed the striker selection, the all time one I arsed up by not having time to do a write up. And we were all witness to a slight bout of my mentalism last time out in the Champions League draft.

Same here. I actually picked Campbell knowing only one team could pick him and was unlikely to.

My 80s pick may go but I'm not particularly bothered as he will probably be our water boy. In fact, I'd happily trade my last 80s pick for a 30s/40s one if the rules weren't what they are.
