No, it was just NM for some time. Had a few discussions with Brwned/Aldo and now paceme but they always revolve around players I'm obviously not going to pick. As decades get blocked out it's easier. Anyone can ask me about a 40s/50s/60s player and know I can't pick them anyway.

As it turns out, I told Aldo a XMAS tree was a rubbish idea so he went got Nedved for the left Awesome puppet mastery from me there.

Views on Junior? He seemed underrated in the 50s but he was a tremendous player. He played both full/wingback an as a playmaker from DM or the left of midfield.

In 1985 Platini got the Ballon d'Or and top scorer in Serie A for a third consecutive year, yet it was Leo Junior awarded with Serie A Best Player.

He is also the joint record holder for Bolas de Prata in Brazil, along with none other than Zico.

Upon his return to Brasil he was among the first to implement the lessons from WC'82 and his stint at Serie A, becoming the on-field prophet for the tactical and defensive organisation which provided the blueprint for Brazil's return to glory in 1994.

Very pleased with him, although it seems I jumped the gun prioritising him.

Brehme could play RB as well. In any case, I wasn't worried about them. It's actually very quiet and easy at this end as we tend to have different positions and decades blocked out, that's precisely why NM had no issue telling me what LB he was thinking about. I did worry a bit with Schuster earlier, although I didn't see how he could play with Xavi myself.

Only 3-4 people could realistically take him and it was primarily VP (who I can't read at all) and Stob that worried me. Some roles I have left I can wing it or there are many options for, while here I had one who I would happily start throughout and a position I certainly didn't want to get stuck with no players for. Some serious quality and flexibility I've left behind in the 50s though.

That's what I meant earlier by changing my picking order. I've moved on to ensuring the team functions the way I want it to and would rather take non-tactics-critical risks.

I was contemplating Junior for sure but the right time never came about really. In a strange way he was maybe my favourite player in that Brazil '82 side because I'd not seen a fullback with a centre mid's brain and technique before. Wasn't at all surprised to later find out he eventually moved into midfield and dominated the opposition. Only found out that he won the foreign player of the year award in Serie A though, pretty impressive!
