The RedCafe Boxing Thread

Thats why I don't PPV.

Thats why you shouldn't PPV Klitschko fights, thats why American tv generally doesn't show Klitschko fights. This is the problem with boxing at the moment, there are plenty of decent fights going on but this was supposed to be the second biggest fight that could be made (second only to Mayweather-Pacquiao) and its ended up a farce.

But everyone blaming Haye needs to realise that this is standard for a Klitschko fight, I thought Haye might be too fast for him but unfortunately not. Haye was a great cruiserweight who unified that division, unfortunately Wlad was just a step too far.

Very typical of our sporting ties at the moment, promise and a hint of success is shown to be possible but then that gets streamrolled away. Haye's strategy was so simple a seven year old could see through it, Wlad is far to sensible to loose his rag and tactical advantage.

Even though it wasn't a KO, this fight reminds me of that recent video from America where that small gangly kid is getting in the face of the big kid who subsequently batters him senseless.

Haye broke his toe, therefore he lost. Just accept you got battered.

Oh shut up, you got beat comprehensively.

rofl blaming it on a little toe.

Ok, I've watched Klitschko a few times now. He's tactically very good, but unfortunately more often than not, equals boring. First time I've watched Haye, and I was not impressed.

I wan't someone to take those titles off of Klitschko, is there an up-and-comer hotshot around?

Are these lot Arsenal fans?

Disgusted by the referee, excuses with injuries, no respect for the opponent. Disgraceful.

Jab, Jab, Jab, Jab, Slip, Jab, Jab, Jab, Bell.

Rinse, repeat for 12 rounds.

Haye will retire, good who is the next best British boxer? Amir Khan?

tbh, hasn't Wlad dominated and crushed every other "contenders" face in over the past few years? Haye never looked shaken much, just comical diving all over the place and had zero gameplan because well he is a cruiserweight.

Basically continued to confirm how awful the division is and that a rematch or fight with Vitali is the only other fight that'll come close to bring any similar money in.

I think that many people underestimate these brothers as fighters. The other one had Lennox Lewis on the ropes until Lewis cut his eye and it was stopped, and Lennox Lewis is one of the all time greats.

If I were Haye, I'd just give it up. He's not a heavyweight, and I've never understood why he wants to try to be one.

Fair play to Sky not protecting Haye and saying he is finding excuses.
