He hits miles harder than Fury.

Fury hits hard, but not explosively hard, it's the constant accurate shots that exhaust his opponents. AJ hasn't been the same fighter since the fat Mexican finished him, but he was probably a top 3 power puncher in the HW division prior. AJ v Wilder is very much debatable, as 1 is a terrible boxer and the other is going to sleep if he's caught with that right hand. Fury v either of them only finishes 1 way as long as Fury prepares well and is in a good headspace.

He could do it, he's got the capability somewhere but at this point I wouldn't be at all confident.

As I posted earlier, AJ’s next fight tells us everything. Ruiz II made complete sense due to his granite chin. Usyk was either badly advised or proof that he’s no longer the same pre-Ruiz fighter.
This rematch will tell us everything, a gun shy Joshua now is a Joshua that’s finished at the very top.

True, but I think the decline in performance is visible in a few other fights.

Pulev was pretty tentative and I thought he was an ideal opponent with not much power or variety. The finish makes it look nice and ordinarily I wouldn't think anything of the performance except to say it was decent but within the wider context of these other fights it wasn't vintage either.

You can go before he even lost, Parker was a very dull affair with no risks taken.

That leaves Povetkin which was decent enough work. He got slightly taken by surprise by a good shot if I recall but fought well.

I would say the overall form is a little shaky but we'll see what transpires in this rematch.

As predictable as expected. Can't believe anyone gave Wilder any bigger chance than landing a punch out of nothing, Fury is leagues above him. Wilder is such a technically average boxer, it's amazing how much a ridiculously powerful shot can carry a career.

Wilder's not gonna fight again unless there's unreal money involved

Fury the best HW in the world by far, but we knew that. Almost lost this one, unfortunately only "almost" :(

AJ even fights him he needs to get him as riled up as Wilder did, Fury walking out to kill (like tonight) is the only chance AJ would have

I think that’s a fair assessment, starting with Parker I think he’s been advised to work on his jab and hone his ring skills, the first Ruiz fight no doubt cemented the importance of that and his team and AJ appear to have been working even harder on that since and have abandoned that which make him explosive.

As I say, he now knows there’s less than zero chance of out boxing Usyk, so this next fight with tell us everything we need to know about AJ.

No respect for Wilder in any way shape or form. Even if he did make a fight of it this morning, I just can’t say anything pleasant towards him with how he conducts himself, no grace in defeat

Delighted he got KO’d, Delighted for Fury

Total legend

Best of his Era

Fury outboxed and out fought Wilder good win for him. Wilder shown a lot of heart to stay in there so long I fear for his health though took a lot of punishment wouldn’t be surprised if he’s badly hurt or retired.

Some highlights for those of us that are poor :(

Nonsense Fury been a total prick to him for a few years and shouted all sorts at the press conference, don’t blame him for not liking him they genuinely hate each other.

I think if someone told me I cheated after I beat them fairly twice I’d be a total prick to them too.

Fury's just too big. You can talk about technique and all that crap but the guys. 6'9 monster who probably came in tongiht close to 275 lbs.

How are you meant to beat that?

He has great stamina too and can box great, a bit of a freak in them regards.

So why you upset he never ran to congratulate him then?

It was Wilder who accused Fury of cheating. Despite it being Fury who was cheated by the judges in the first fight.

Fury has made Wilder filthy rich in the build up to these fights with his prefight antics, as technically Wilder isn't in his league yet the jibes have given people a reason to keep coming back.

Wilder the best heavyweight in my lifetime, I don't see where he goes from here, as I don't think anyone in the division can give him a decent fight.

If Joshua can can regain his belts (which I doubt), that would be a box office fight but on the night I think Fury stops him comfortably.

What a fight. The greatest sport in the world bar none. I want to give Wilder credit for his effort but he’s such a scumbag and refused to shake Fury’s hand so feck him. I was very happy to see him get iced.

Wilder was the world champion he give Fury the first fight.

Fury been talking all sorts about his wife and how he’s going to put him in the infirmary.

Great fight, man. For a division that has been criticised a lot in recent years the last two fights really lived up to the billing

So what point are you trying to make?

That Fury has perfectly justifiable reasons for being a prick to Wilder. He’s beaten him fairly 3 times now. Been accused of cheating by him. Wilder said he wanted a body on his record before fighting Fury. Loads of shit. After the fight Fury went over to see Wilder and congratulate him and Wilder told him to feck off. He’s a moron but you do you.

Wilder was the world champion you idiot he give Fury the first fight.

Idiot... Wow your a big man aren't you.

Wilder was a world champion that fought nobody of substance. He lost the first first 100% but the judges marked it as a draw.

The second fight he lost fairly and made excuses about being tired due to wearing his costume to the ring. He also was t happy with Fury's gloves despite them being checked by his own team before the fight. He then sacked his trainer for throwing in the towel when it was overdue.

So yes, I know he was the champion in the first fight but as I said, technically Wilder doesn't belong in the same ring and the payday he has made from fights 2 and 3 he should be thanking Fury for.

I don't really care what Fury said. They are going to war in one of the most vicious sports on the planet, words are said before the fight for publicity and to garner PPV buys, all fighters know that and Wilder hasn't been the most respectful himself.

Love Fury, great performance

My worry is that he won’t be able to get motivated for his next fight
Fury seemed kind of lost and distant in the post-fight interviews.
Now that AJ has lost, will Fury have the same fire in his belly when he ever does he get to fight him? We know he’s had motivational/mental issues in the past — prior to today, it’s been a running gag that he has as many title defences as you and I. It is a slight concern, isn’t it?

If they genuinely don’t like each other and Fury has been a prick to him which you agree on I don’t see why not wanting to sake hands discredits him for putting on a show and shipping a hell of a lot of punishment for our entertainment.

What he said about wanting a body was bang out of order though.

That’s not true at all Wilder got offered about £40m to fight Joshua he was the world champion and was the big draw at the time, Fury was out of the game for a few years and overweight if anything Wilder give Fury the break.

I don’t want to be on here sounding like I’m a Wilder fan but I can see why he didn’t want to shake his hand. Even Fury apologised for the way he spoke after the weigh in.

It’s more because at the end of the day, it is a sport and it’s each other’s lives they’re playing with here. Everyone shakes hands after a fight. I can’t think of many off the top of my head where nobody hasn’t. Only one that came to mind is Mayweather/Ortiz, and that’s because one headbutted the guy and the other knocked the other out with extreme sneak tactics.

It is boxing. Part of the schtick surrounding it is to build up a fight by being a prick to your opponent. Not shaking hands after or acknowledging it is being a poor sport and shows you’re not really that great of a guy. As much of a prick Fury is in the build up I think he’s quite humble and respectful overall to his opponents when needed, I’ve not seen that with Wilder.

Fury winds them up to the back teeth but he does be gracious after the fight you’re right there. It seems Deontay has an attitude problem but I thought he showed enough in the fight to warrant a little respect at least.

It is fight 2 and 3 which made the money. I'm not disputing about fight one. But when you look at the trilogy my point is Wilder should be grateful for Fury because technically they aren't close enough to eachother to warrant a trilogy series, it only happened because of the bad judging in the first fight and the the hype and contractual arrangement between the 2nd and 3rd.

Without Fury being Fury before the fights I don't think the third fight would have had that big an interest. I don't know anyone in the sport or fans who actually thought Wilder could take Fury in the final fight.

With that being said, I think respect should always be shown after the bout. That is now all three fights where Wilder has been a bad loser, it would make me want to cuss him too.
