I hope I don't get Zlatan either. When there's so many GOAT's about in the same pool.

Brolin probably misunderstood what the net was. He thought it meant he'd just chill about and the food would come to him.
 
They are just harmless jokes. Brolin came fourth in the Ballon d'or in 1994 tied with Hagi and ahead of Desailly/Laudrup/Savicevic/Klinsmann/Baresi etc.

He is a good enough player, and certainly fits in the legacy/underrated pool.

Let me go through the rules and all first.

They are supposed to be GOAT material so that every team gets one of similar standing.

Fact is, other than the defenders, it does look a bit lop-sided and some players (e.g. Shearer) end up defining your setup significantly.

In short, you've done nothing wrong since there's no grounds for saying Shearer is any worse than Zlatan really and, in fairness, we were never going to find 16 picks of equal standing and flexibility. It's not like GOATs grow on trees.

I just hope you all get them chaps and I get O Baixinho or Dagger :smirk:
 
Ah right, missed the GOAT part. I don't mind picking again but if Shearer gets dropped then surely the likes of Rossi have to go as well
 
Errr... @Edgar Allan Pillow , just so you are aware, you probably need someone else to run the random draws because it could take some engineering, or at least checking and re-running since there are no subs available.

E.g. if someone gets Gaz as the legacy chap and then Zanetti as the DoF interference it would essentially mean playing Zanetti as a midfielder, leftback or Gaz as a CB. That would really be quite shit for whoever it happens to.

1. The players in the block list aren't eligible at any stage of the draft.

2. Regarding RiOFL and Hargriefs, once the players who are suspended/injured are back, can we keep the reinforcements as well?

3. Now to Tevezobola, how will it be decided which player it is? Will it be randomized? Will the players in Legacy Pool/DoF Interference Pools be eligible for this?

4. "O3 - One reinforcement player per round excepting R3 below." - Didn't get this one.

TBH, I don't think we should be re-picking these chaps. As I said, we are never going to end up with 16 equivalent choices. It just struck that when I went to colour Shearer as DoF-reserved in my draft list he doesn't even feature in it, and it has almost 400 players in it! Mind, same happened to Rossi, there are some players I just wouldn't ever pick so I completely ignore them.

Yes. Reinforcement is independent of disaster striking, they just get mentioned together because they happen in between rounds of games and it was probably wise to reassure people they could use the reinforcements to shore up any issues caused by Rio or Hargo.

Everyone is eligible and it is randomly picked from your roster so far.

I think he meant T3 (after first round) as it establishes two, but after the quarter in T4 you also get two leaving only the reinforcement before the final to be one. That is, it seems you've picked a hole in the rules and @Edgar Allan Pillow should clarify.
 
Cheers. I think the Tevebola pick should apply only to the ones we "pick". If someone gets his legacy pick get randomnized in Tevezbola, he will have a massive advantage. I understand you need a bit of luck in these drafts but that would be harsh on the rest.

TBH, there will be many instances where luck will play a part. E.g. the guy getting suspended being one you planned to upgrade or not, in the latter case effectively costing you a reinforcement that may not even be an upgrade if the position they play in is critical (e.g. goalie, sole striker, etc.).

There isn't any point overengineering it. Just accept luck will be part and parcel.
 
Ah, balls, I wanted Breitner, been waiting forever for a draft where I could pick him again. :(
 
I have changed my striker choice to Batistuta. If that is alright.
 
Just a point of note from the outsiders perspective - this draft will really benefit those at the top of the draw. There's a few more true GOATs left out of those who haven't been put in the blocked pool yet, which means on this style there will be a huge gap between whoever picks first and whoever picks last.
 
Also lol @ the person who will get Zlatan while someone else gets Romario, or when someone gets Ballack and the other gets Keane/Platini, or when someone gets Puyol and the other gets Nesta :lol:
