I doubt that bothers him much. They're a pair of arseholes.
It probably does bother him, considering Gervais loves (or used to love) Stewart Lee.

That’s probably people on here, using different user names to the Caf to fool us. Like FilthySwine and HedgehogChoker
Good luck with performing! From what I understand he did do some stand-up before Animals, but clearly he hadn’t achieved much. I’ve been at it for five years and it is a bit annoying seeing his lazy stand-up get such huge rewards. But then I have fellow comics who love his special, so it’s not universal.
I just know I couldn’t spend more than 5 mins watching Supernatural before being annoyed about him doing jokes he’s pretty much done before, with his usual artless delivery. Not too far off his Brent persona.
Yeah he's not very well liked amongst other stand ups either. Frankie Boyle and Stuart Lee don't like him.
I think it's part of the reason he's never done panel shows either. He's not very popular outside of his own clique.
I think it's much more likely that he doesn't need to.
Been on a nice little bunsen burner for decades now
The Gervais sub is an XFM radio sub that respects Smerch, loves Pilky and dislikes Gervais. It's mostly just 20 year old quotes. For a Gervais sub-reddit they are quite in agreement
it was a waste of an episode. Surely they could have found someone related to football. What made it worse was they didn't even cover any football at all considering there was lot going on last week. One to skip for sure. I can't imagine this will be anything other than a ball-washing session.
James Acaster addressed that ...I was wondering that too. He must have rubbed some the wrong way I guess. Maybe he’s too offensive for some. Nothing wrong with comedians being offensive and controversial in my opinion. All I know is Extras and the Office are the in the top five of funniest shows I’ve ever watched.

It's really not difficult to understand.
Gervais has produced nothing but shit for about 15 years. His tv shows and his films and his standup have all been fecking dreadful since then.
He also comes across as a right wing arsehole mocking trans people and constantly complaining about "woke". I think he's said or tweeted some form of the sentence "you have the right to be offended and I have the right to offend you" about 8 trillion times in the last few years.
His standup is a mix of him explaining how he totally pwned someone on twitter, mocking trans people, lazy edgelord humour about rape or dead babies and then stealing funny things Karl Pilkington said 20 years ago.
And by the way, I was a huge Gervais fan originally. So it's got feck all to do with jealousy or anything like that. The Office is maybe the best comedy ever, the XFM shows still make me laugh and Extras was mostly very good. He's just got really lazy and shite.
That's how we brushed off brexit at the time...I think he's pretty liberal for the most part. He's just got old and grumpy.
Was very weird how he didn't mention them much particularly Steven - have they fallen out big time? Kind of sounded like it.Got my hopes up when he started mentioning Karl and Steve would love to know what’s going on with those 3
So you were fine when we sold Jaap Stam?Subreddits like that are so pointless. Every comment is just some form of reference and they all just repeat the same stuff over and over. I could never imagine checking the subreddit for Ricky Gervais on a daily basis. Weird world.

It was quite obvious how it happened. They were at his show the night before and decided on the spot to see if he would be a guest the following day.Yea I don't get it either, I know they've had non-football athletes on the show before but at least you can contrast and compare their careers with the footballers on the show so it's somewhat tied in to the shows overall concept. This just felt so random, like they only invited Ricky because they wanted to hang out with him for a while. I thought that maybe he was a huge football fan and they'd discuss his team and various things around the PL but instead we got a football podcast where some footballing legends asks a comedian about his writing process and tour schedule.
Complete waste.
The only non football guests I can remember are Rory McIlroy (golfer and big football fan) and that NFL player (who was investing in English football). RG was weird and I hope they aren't going to do too many celebrity guests like that. Get Keir Starmer on, or Elton John, Stormzy, Astrid WettYea I don't get it either, I know they've had non-football athletes on the show before but at least you can contrast and compare their careers with the footballers on the show so it's somewhat tied in to the shows overall concept. He and Dawkins get on well.Always think its quite ironic how Gervais is so evangelical about his atheism.
Spoke too soon, the rest of the comments are calling @Djemba-Djemba all sorts of names

And what about Merchant? He fell out with Karl a long time ago, it was around the time they were making Derek together and Karl left half way through.
Karl was unhappy with how little money he got out of an Idiot abroad considering he was the star of the show. That was why he went off on his own to make the moaning of life.
Ronnie O’Sullivan went on and was maybe my favourite one to dateThe only non football guests I can remember are Rory McIlroy (golfer and big football fan) and that NFL player (who was investing in English football). I forgot him.Ronnie O’Sullivan went on and was maybe my favourite one to date
Yeah it's fine getting non footballers but they should be adjacent sports like snooker, golf, tennis, NFL etc. it's nice to compare how the two sports work etc.Ronnie O’Sullivan went on and was maybe my favourite one to date
James Acaster addressed that ...
Jesus you are full of poor takes. Acaster is great.I’m sorry, but this guy is an arrogant twat too. So very annoying.

First time meeting plant?Jesus you are full of poor takes. Acaster is great.
First time meeting plant?
I guess maybe some don’t realise he’s playing an arrogant twat in that bit. In reality he’s awkward as feck

He’s a sarcastic condescending knob. And it’s not a ‘take’, it’s my opinion and I am entitled to it.Jesus you are full of poor takes. Acaster is great.
They're having James Corden on in the New Year.
He's a massive spanner.Jesus you are full of poor takes. Acaster is great.
So… a take? He’s a sarcastic condescending knob. And it’s not a ‘take’, it’s my opinion and I am entitled to it.
