Our red is so much better than Arsenal's girly red.

Also, Arsenal's sleeves seem to be our away kits ones from last season.
I love the United kit! Nice change.
It's going to be weird seeing United wear red socks for the first time since the 60s.
Huh, and Arsenal suddenly get black on their shirts and now have red shirts, white shorts and black socks? Seems a bit off, can't say I approve.

IIRC from watching old clips, United at one point wore a completely red, completely white and completely blue kit, it would be nice to do that again for a period, if we're going to get away from the red, white and black standard.
Was hoping that the 11/12 tartan pattern home jersey would be a little like the current Aston Villa one, where you can only see it up close.

Of course that would make people think of Liverpool, but they don't have any claim on red, it's pretty much the first thing on the kit design list, most recognizable color on a plain kit.
Ours is growing on me.
Only for three games (against Bolton - to try them out under the new floodlights - and Real Madrid) in 1957. That was 7 years before Liverpool wore all red.
We wore all blue for the first time in the 1968 European Cup final (we usually wore blue shirts with white shorts and either white or blue socks for third kits up until then) and have done many times since then. We wore all white away kits loads of times since the 1950s (before that we ususally wore black socks with white shirts and shorts).
Yep, no doubt those are real now. Our tartan design is definitely for Fergie and I think it looks alright from there. It's subtle, yet visible at the same time.

I agree with your thoughts on the socks. Barca's blue socks don't match the rest of their kit, we haven't had red socks since 1971 and Arsenal haven't had dark socks since the late 20s/early 30s.
Released on the 29th I believe. I'd imagine we'll see it shortly.

Absolutely. I hate that kit and it's mostly down to the socks.
I wonder if Nike is a bit careless or is it that they just don't care because they know millions are going to buy the kit regardless of the design
I really do think they got the socks mixed up. The fact the red socks have the same two band motif that the Arsenal shirt has is further evidence for that theory.

Hypothetically if we were to break tradition I'd like to see us go to black shorts as the standard, but that's an aside.
I agree with that above kit looking nice, with the red/white/red combo, but for as long as mist people now can remember we've worn red/white/black, with the occassional red/white/white if the black clashed. The black socks would look better with the planned new kit than the red ones, and Arsenals dark ones aren't normal to them either.
