The New Kits Thread

Not to be reactionary, but dear god those are hideous.

It's like a pajama top my grandmother would get me from the Burlington coat factory and sewn a United patch on when she heard they're my team.

We are never going to follow up a blue and black away kit with another blue away kit are we? Common sense and a knowledge of Nike's methods dictate we will have a new white away kit. The level of detail in the "home" kit is above that which you would expect in a straight up fake though, with that writing inside the collar. On the other hand I highly doubt that they'd put the devil at the back, below the neck as they already used that design this season. Kits are getting leaked earlier and earlier though nowadays, although this year's wasn't leaked until December and even then it was just a computer image. I'd guess that both of these are fake (and I bloody well hope I'm right as they are shite).

Why can't we have symmetry in our kits, in that the away kit is just the home one reversed like the Adidas ones in the 80s?

I wish I could post TeamGB kits for the Olympics this year but i will be sacked and probably sued :(

Barcelona's kits are shocking.

this season's home jersey is pretty shite as well... although their black kit is alright.

When you continually keep trying to put a new twist on something classic, you invariably end up with a lot of turds.

Some supposed info about next season's Nike kits:

Celtic

Starting off with Celtic, they will be celebrating their 125th anniversary and the club badge will be surrounded by a circular silver wreath. The new home shirt will feature the traditional green and white hoops however they will be narrower than usual. As for the new away shirt, it will feature black and grey hoops.

Arsenal

The Gunners new home shirt is mainly red with white sleeves. It also features 2 bands, one on each sleeve, one red and the other dark blue. Arsenal’s 2012/13 away shirt will feature black and burgundy horizontal stripes.

Manchester United

A new design for the new Red Devils’ shirts as Nike opts for a checkered design. The home shirt will feature a black v-neck and a red checkered body in 2 different shades of red.The new away shirt is white with a red collar and has the Manchester United badge in black and white.

Juventus

The new Juventus home shirt will feature the traditional black and white stripes slightly thicker than the current shirt. It will have a round black collar and also an interesting detail is that it at the back of the shirt, the player number will appear in white on a black background. As for the new away shirt, Nike has presented an elegant black shirt with two white bands on each sleeve.

Inter

The 2012/13 Inter home shirt will feature the Nerazzuri traditional colours, a striped black and blue shirt, again having thicker stripes than the current version of their shirt. Inter’s new away shirt features a completely new visiting look for the Nerazzuri. 2012/13 away kit for Inter will be completely red, having also two black and blue bands on each sleeve.

So our kit is gonna be checkered? I've got the image of the sleeves from this kit but all over,

And having the badge in black and white on the away kit? Like this?

Not liking the sounds of that.

The home shirt is pictured at the top of the page.

The crest on the away shirt has been done like that a couple of times before (although this is a photo of a training shirt):

Keepers kit perhaps. We were never going ot have two blue away kits in a row because we use our away kits as third kits the next season.

Also, the fact that the website that posted those photos was made to take them down pretty much confirms it as real.

the blue wont happen, well have the red, a new white and this years blue stripey number for a third kit

Nike's designs are really hit-or-miss.

After two seasons with dreadful kits (black chevron+black round neck & loose collar, shitty light red colour), they finally got the kit spot on this season.

However, now they want to mess it up again? I don't mind the checkered design, it's something new, but the black neck? Hate a black neck on a United kit, doesn't matter if it's round or v-shaped.

ffs feckin hate white kits, black God damn it!

I'm not a big fan of them but we've always had one available every since Nike took over and for most of the time in the 45 years before that. Adidas always did white aways for us too. Only Umbro have been adventurous with the clours of our away kits.

I initially hated the chevron home kit but it quickly grew on me nad has become a bit of a favourite. I disliked both of last season's kits but love this season's. Not a fan of the checkered/tartan shirt at all though and I agree about the collar (except for on the classic 1994-96 home kit). It just looks cheap.

The 2009-2010 Chevron kit was badly designed. It never grew on me, I tried, but never happened.

Black collars/necks are cheap looking, the black collar of the 1994-96 kit is very smart designed though, not a pure black collar as well.

The only Nike kits I like are 2006-07, 2007-09 and this season's. 3 out of 9 Nike kits I like. :annoyed:
