This reminds me of something Patrice Evra said. When you pull on the Man Utd shirt you are pulling on the history of the club as well. This appears to be someone taking that concept literally.
I think the problem is, that people are looking at the kit as being just that. Look beyond the inanimate object that is the shirt.

Possible Spurs home shirt leak, nothing confirmed but must confess I quite like it:
Spurs have had some very nice kits of late. It helps that White and navy blue are good colours, and their cock and ball is an unflashy crest but never the less, puma have made them some very nicely understated numbers
