I've enjoyed our last couple of performances - a lot more energy, intent and invention. In the first half today we were almost unrecognisably offensive - full backs paying like wingers, centre backs winning the ball back in the opposition half - fantastic to see.

So, does this mean that Mourinho has undergone some sort of epiphany, and that we can expect to see more of the same week in, week out? I remain very sceptical. I'd accept a more conservative approach in the next couple of games (Valencia and Liverpool, both away), but I hope we return to the front foot after that.

Let's see.

They said this after the Newcastle game too.

Fulham are rock bottom and haven’t kept a clean sheet all season.

Positive in the way we started and continued through the game, but this is a par result and nothing exciting

If Liverpool win the league in the same season he takes us to 7th, I am sorry, but I will never forgive him even if Liverpool's good form isn't on him.

If you’re literally meaning fans of other clubs then I take back what I said.

I’ve just seen way too many comments like that about United fans.

I was literally meaning fans of other clubs make up the bulk of people that want Mourinho to stay as United manager as they know how damaging it is.

Seeing our fans turn on Pogba and side with Jose is painful. You don't have to like Pogba but hey every other manager has got him playing amazing. He never caused trouble for other managers bar wanting to play under Fergie. Hardly a crime that.

We will miss him if he goes I guarantee it. He deserves the benefit of the doubt and to play under a new manager. Him leaving before Jose shouldn't even be a possibility.

Long story short I really think Jose is doing so much damage to the club.

I’ve had this dreadful feeling all day that he is now going to get another year. Heard something said during the match about how Mendez came out and said Jose is happy and the board are very happy with him and realise it’s a huge project.

I know it’s Jose’s agent saying it but it sounds like a total current United thing to do, that along with appointing probably the soon to be kind of the jungle Arry Redknapp as care taker manager for the publicity.

I think there is a good man in Mourinho at some level, but he is certainly infected by his inner devil a lot. He is such a sore loser and he takes out his frustration on everyone
in a very negative way. He could potentially be our red devil, but could also turn far too dark and negative and destroy what is around him.

What the actual feck

I am actually not sure if I can tolerate him for another year. Sick of his antics, his negativity, his tactics....it's a huge project, I agree. But he is three years into it and it is arguable if we are any better now.

I'm willing to bet some of you would gladly take an embarrassing trashing at the hands of Liverpool just for Jose to get sacked.

I think today proved that Jose should be given time and money. Our attack is good. A rework of defense is what we need to take us forward.

Good post, this.
I agree with every single word.

Both Pogba and Jose should be shown the door.
why should we ship Pogba? He is one of the best CM in the world, has played on the highest level in Juve and France, he has many years in him, he needs the right manager. The only one needs to feck off is the translator.

Yeah a game against pathetic rock bottom placed Fulham side proved Jose needs more time and money! Never change, Caf

Cheers mate. If Pogba is still a problem or point of contention after a bit under the next manager then the discussion over selling him can start but right now surely with Jose' history he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

We are doing ourselves a disservice to blame Pogba of all people for our current predicament.

There's nothing to be read into this result except that if we had drawn or lost then I doubt anyone would have an issue with us getting rid of him.

Even a shite United team should be beating this Fulham team. I'm pretty sure a Redcafe XI would give them a game with the form they're in at the minute.

It was better and more balanced but we'll park the bus next week and it'll be embarrassing and we'll be frustrated and moan about it because that's just what Jose does and we shouldn't expect anything better by now.

Still want him out and an attacking coach of any stature brought in. Our players can attack and move the ball quickly to feet and our strikers/forwards make runs that a good coach would give the midfielders and defenders confidence to attempt instead of making them fear getting lambasted or dropped.

I just don't see progression under Jose, even if the board completely backs him and we have a massive splurge on players that he definitely wants so we're stuck unless we do something about it.

In fact one might go as far as to say that Mourinho may be in contention for manager of the season.

Hey on the plus side, at least we're improving against them relegation sides. We had some trouble against this season.

Unless we go on a streak, there's no way you could take anything from this result. Good to see us win and by a margin but it still isn't good enough.

Great result and performance especially in the first half but why oh why cant we batter teams like we used to over 90 mins? This should have been a 8-0 destruction instead of us building up a lead then sitting back as usual. Exactly the same thing happened at the start of last season - how many 4-0 wins did we have when it should have been more? At least we now have a positive goal difference - yay!

Whatever you think of Mourinho and I'm not a fan, you can't take away the fact he is not afraid of making big calls like dropping Pogba and Lukaku - and low and behold we've played better without them. Still think he should go though.

A loss next week against the dippers, which is highly probable as much as we hate to admit it, will put us right back to square one.

No this changes nothing. He has got to go. They were very poor in the first half and the second half they were better and could have scored a couple of goals. The second half with 11 Fulham players was our usual standard. The Valencia and Liverpool game would give us an honest check. He still has got to go.

Square zero because we could then be 11 points out of top 4. Iirc possibly the furthest away we would have been all season

From the league leaders, yes, but the title was gone weeks ago to be fair so it doesn't make much difference either way.

In any case, I'm sure the board take very little pleasure from beating an extremely poor Fulham side. Today changes nothing.

No. 11 points from 4th position (possibly 13 depending on how spurs do). Taken a look at the table recently?
