Although he is in poor form, and 3 of those 4 players haven't been options for ages in fairness.
Why did it baffle them? He has being playing terrible.

Exactly.
It was more the bizarre playing of two attacking mids up front that baffled.
Especially as we've tried it before and it didn't work and secondly because we're not City, with their set up .
Since we handed most of them ridiculous contracts, can't get rid of them thus giving them an unprecedented level of power.Whatever they want I am against it. As some have said these guys need to sold ASAP.
Since when did staff decide who their boss is going to be?
Let 'em fecking go! And a few more to that list too!
I stated that the current squad is the most toxic one that I have ever seen assembled at Manchester United for the following reasons:
> The professionalism of the players
> The attitude of the players
It was as clear as day against Leicester, that the players have checked out.
That comes under professionalism and attitude.
I'd keep Ronaldo and let VDB leave and Shaw.
If they get a good price for Rashford and he doesn't want to stay, I'd let him go as well.
Ronaldo has made noise about leaving to win trophies just like Pogba.
It’s interesting to see just how many players could (and should) leave, especially in a single window. Realistically you might have 4 in/4 out rather than half a squad, but if it did happen I wonder what effect that would have on your teams effectiveness and cohesion.
why though? He’s been utter garbage lately. What makes anyone think he’d have done an even serviceable job?For all the [sometimes fair] criticism Rasford has received this season not starting him on Saturday in the face of the no striker alternative was a ridiculous move.
I was all for RR coming in & firmly believe it’s as much an issue with playing staff as anything but this squad is still be mismanaged.

I really want the season to just be over now.
Complete reset needed.
Can't wait for the clearout.
Even Jones has been making some noise today.
Jones? What's he saying now?
Nothing that should make anyone upset unless they're a terrible person.Jones? What's he saying now?
Some of our players now briefing the media they dont want Ten Hag as manager.
They want someone with weak leadership who can be manipulated into doing what they want them to do. Think of Ole.Is that the case or is it more a case of the press completely fabricating a story.
Why wouldn't they want Ten Hag?
It doesn't make any sense to me.
I can’t remember his last good game. He’s clearly gone the Dele Alli route.Yes and he came in the 2nd half and did feck all.
We apparently spent the whole week practicing with a striker formation to then change tact entirely. If he doesn’t rate Rashford [rightly or wrongly] don’t continue throwing him on in an attempt to save the shambolic performances RR is residing over [something Rashford isn’t particularly looking capable of anyway].why though? As for serviceable, the strikerless nonsense wasn’t particularly servicable either. What I would do is put square pegs in square holes, whilst squad management has been horrendous for too long on Saturday we had one striker-come-winger in the squad & we didn’t utilise him till the second half. That’s malpractice imo.
Overall, I find the criticism of Rashford [who I believe has been terrible for too long] hard to stomach when McTominay continues to occupy a space in our starting 11. If we were picking players based on how servicable a job they do we’d struggle to get 11 men out on the pitch. On Saturday we had one forward available, play him - don’t bring him on to save the job then wonder why he looks as devoid of confidence as ever.
That's exactly it, and even an in-form Rashford has never particularly looked great playing through the middle, which given the availability of Sancho and Elanga, is where he would have been used (ie. covering for the absent Ronaldo.) Bruno didn't get up to much, but I'd still have him in there, even in some weird false 9 role, than Rashford, who hasn't looked up to it in ages.Well he has been devoid of confidence when Ole was here. When he kept playing Rashford people kept saying he should be rested. But Ole gave him all the more and chance to get his form back. He just could not be arsed to make an attempt. When RR gives him chances he did the same. Whether he comes on as a sub or starts the game he should perform. There is no point in giving him chance after chance when he does not even bother to make an attempt.

Quotes or it's bollocks.
Don't waste too much of your time, it's bollocks.
I don't buy it.
We just happen to consistently sign toxic players because... why exactly? Are Man City or Bayern or Real Madrid full of model professionals, paragons of the sport, compared to our uniquely unruly and ill-disciplined individuals?
I posit that most professional football players are roughly similar - there are problematic individuals, sure, but no one in this bunch is a Mario Balotelli or I don't know, Joey Barton. It's poor recruitment, poor management, and a subsequently deteriorating club culture, as opposed to simply 'toxic players'.

He wasn’t looking devoid of confidence last season though, he was playing badly & injured. He then came back & his pal had lost his job as manager, which has affected him the same as most of the Ole favourites. Badly.Well he has been devoid of confidence when Ole was here. When he kept playing Rashford people kept saying he should be rested. But Ole gave him all the more and chance to get his form back. He just could not be arsed to make an attempt. The fault lies with the board as they are the constant. This club reward failure or mediocrity. I won't go into specific players as we all know who they are, but when we sign a player, if he isn't good enough or is injury prone, we more often than not give them a new contract instead of moving them on. This is no motivator, as they can just be exactly the same with no consequence.
Now compare that with manager signings, where the board seem to get that right. Once the penny drops we ain't gonna be challenging for the league any time they are sacked.
I was hoping with the new ceo and a dof things would change, but with the news that Rashford and Shaw are to be offered new contracts, I'm not so sure.
