Woodley actually surprised me by lasting so long. He's been done for a long time, and though he probably still has some power, hasn't actually stopped anyone since catching Lawler with a sweet hook 4 years ago.

Thats surely any interest in any Woodley fight done. That was semi interesting cos it was a grudge match but he's just terrible to watch, he literally doesn't do anything at all its ridiculous

Just lost 15 rounds in a row... Colby probably threw more strikes in that first 5 minutes than Woodley over his last 3 fights.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. Its the same thing in his last 3 fights. He threatens to throw a haymaker never does it then just gets back against the cage and does nowt for rest of the round

He stopped Till 2 years ago.

He’s done as a top contender though yes.

Just finished watching it now? So has there been any conformation on an injury to Woodley or did he just take an easy out realising he wasn’t winning?
I can‘t think of any Woodley fight I’ve ever watched that has been exciting. Maybe Lawler because it didn’t drag on too long. He’s his own worst enemy, does the same crap time and time again. I really doubt his coaches train him to be that passive and sit with his back on the fence looking for that one shot.
I’m surprised Dana hasn’t cut him to be honest.

Chimaev or what ever his name is “Smesh hem” ridiculous, I just want to see more to see if he actually is the real deal.

Dern, that’s how you do jits in the UFC. When it’s like that you could watch it all day because she was looking to take a limb every second of that. She looked in incredible shape compared to some of the times I’ve seen her.

If she develops hands or technique in striking she is going to be a contender I reckon. Can take a hit, can give a hit as she has rocked people. I just don’t like that she tends to be head down and slug instead of looking at what she is doing.

Hard to tell but I think there was feck all wrong with him. He went for a guillotine and that didn’t pay off. He was on his back hanging out his ass in the last round. I think he just took the easy way out.

I think he was trying to find a way out with the eye poke. Then the ribs. Not for a second did he look like he was gonna win that fight.

Did y'all see Cerrone post fight presser? Peru much said he feels he lost that fight and wants to take some time out. Also said he just didn't want to be in the cage against Price or McGregor... Refreshingly honest

I wasn’t paying attention to be honest but that is very honest of him. He’s reaching the end himself I think. Well there’s nothing to think about he’s 37. But yeah the guy took those eye pokes like a champ unlike some.

Covington is the perfect heel - he's loathsome, but he's also the real deal and goes into every fight and makes it a war. He's got heart and does not stop coming. Not often one cheers Usman, but you've got to hope he goes in there and puts him to bed, again.

Chimaev is very entertaining to watch. They'll be just as many who want a piece of him as those who will avoid like the plague not wanting their rank snatched from them.

Mackenzie Dern... Markos showed severe lack of fight IQ jumping on to her after she missed her kick. What the hell was she thinking entangling herself like that? It gets to the mat and it's basically a female Maia.

Woodley's proving Dana right with every bout, unfortunately. He's a horrid fighter to watch and if this is all he can muster in a grudge match, there's little value in him other than as a gatekeeper until he's done.

It’s crazy that Woodley would stick to that same tactic for 15 rounds and lose every one of them. It’s an admission that he doesn’t know what else to do and doesn’t have the heart for it anymore. There is nothing left for him to do and I don’t think anyone wants to see it.

Cerrone has also done well to have so many rounds under his belt and still be able to compete. I think he is an interesting character, but his time has also passed. I can’t think of any fight of his that would intrigue me anymore. It would be nice to see him finish with a nice leg kick KO of a non-top 15 fighter, but it’s better he walks away if his heart isn’t in it. That’s when you start to get hurt.

I’d love to see Abdulrashid Sadulaev in MMA. I think he’d top all of the caucasus fighters.

I didn't knew who he was, so looked it up and... he's only 24! Apparently is a world class wrestler...

Just amazing how many talents Russia produces for combat sports

He’s been the best wrestler in the world for past 5-6 years or so. Olympic gold and about 5 world championship gold. Safe to say if he learned how to stike he’d wipe the floor in MMA.

Apparently there’s talk of him coming to MMA after Tokyo, although I’m not if Russia are banned or and if he’ll compete under the Olympic flag or whatever it is.

I think honestly that Woodley is not in the fight game for the same thing as most other fighters - he doesn't like being hit, marked or risking his faculties in any way, which prevents him from opening up and taking risks. He doesn't love fighting or putting himself on the line and he's not one who's going to stick around and become punch drunk like so many others.

Once the money doesn't stack, he's out of there and unless Dana uses him as a come up for other prospects, he's going to get sidelined until the contract is up.

When you saw Covington and Usman throwing absolutely everything they had at each other, you see the heart and appetite they have for what they're doing irrespective of technique/ability, and like or loathe what they do, they go into every fight with that same spirit. Funny, a few fighters have said they've confronted Covington outside the octagon and he's shyed away from physical confrontation which supposedly inferred cowardice, but you put that guy in, and come fight time, you're going to have to put him to sleep to stop him coming at you. For that reason, he's a perfect heel as he is willing to put himself on the line and back his words. Woodley is the total opposite and if he can't pick his shot and bomb someone out, he's not got it in him to dig as deep as they will for the win.

I think he's the type who once has earned enough could well do without the grief, as opposed to so many others who are now wealthy, but are still in the cage willing to put their life on the line to match the hunger of the opponent for their own pride and fighting spirit.

Not saying this is all conscious with him, as he's still putting himself through camps etc, but the Woodley we see now just isn't the same one who was hungry and pursuing the belt and trappings that came with it, and to me, it's not about age or not being physically up to it: he just doesn't want to take risks or over-extend himself in the face of rabid opponents who fight like they have nothing to lose.

Theyve got to the worst trash talkers in the UFC

Covington is a racist cnut. Honestly don't know how people defend him with it being an "act" its obvious he's a dick
I don't think people defend him to be honest. I think people say it's probably an "act" or a heightened version of himself, either way, nobody likes watching him win. However, it can't be denied that he's one of the best WW fighters at the moment, with the champ being slightly better (their fight was quite close).

It just seems a bit of fun in fairness, doesn't seem like there is a load of hate involved in it. Costa takes it in good spirits and Adesanya hasn't really got worked up either. It's quite a nice change to see 2 fighters being alright with each other like this than pretend to hate each other to be honest.

True, maybe not defend it does seem he gets criticised for his personality but I have seen plenty of times people say it's an "act" and use that as some kind of defence (including MMA journalists etc.) The smoke signal thing is just straight up racist and people in the media/UFC etc should be calling him out on that really and not giving him a platform to say it.

Covington doing himself no favours with that smoke signals crap. Definitely should be called out for that. Blatant racism, the stupid c*nt.

Not surprising at all given who supports him.

Sad, but true. It's a shame I saw recent photo of Gaethje posing with that band of idiots, current president included. I kinda like Gaethje.

In fairness, its very hard to turn down a photo op with the President (even if its the Mango Mussolini). Very surprised to see Cejudo and Ali al-Aziz there though.
