Khabib v GSP?
GSP is too big and would win easily - not because he's a better grappler but because he's an all around better fighter.
Khabib v GSP?
You're making a huge omission to understate Conor's power - that being a lot of it [the power] was sapped from the ground game and once stood up, Conor carried less and less of a threat in terms of bombs and he was telegraphing.I'm actually not sure? I said all along that Conor doesn't have the power at 155. His punching power is being overstated. His actual quality is landing shots which he couldn't do tonight.
You’ve lost it in this thread. There’s no way that what you’ve posted above constitutes treating people like savages.
More importantly though no one said it was ‘fair game’, so stop using made up arguments to try and defend your backward and uncivilised views. Comments around religion and country might be insulting but in a modern society they don’t justify assault. The fact you think attacking people because they say things you don’t like is the only way for a “self respecting human” to behave suggests that you need to grow up.
Yea but what other fight really sells? UFC is all about them PPVs. They could fight at 165, didn't they create that weight class recently?GSP is too big and would win easily - not because he's a better grappler but because he's an all around better fighter.
That's such a simple way to look at things. Honestly, that's what I'm saying. Sunnis around Chechnya and Dagestan do not hold such views. I wish they were moderate like in Tatarstan for example but they are not. I'm unsurprised by Khabibs reaction. In fact, I think it will only escalate from here. I keep saying and saying -- just leave Caucasus' folk alone.

They're both 5'10".
no that was a joke. It would be tough to find a weight but obviously they could do it if they wanted to. If Khabib keeps winning and GSP wants to go again they kinda have to do itYea but what other fight really sells? UFC is all about them PPVs. Besides that, Conor really fought like an idiot when standing up, going almost square on and trying to prove he's the better man irrespective of technique and all the things he was praised for on his way up.
Conor would have plenty to review and think about in his stupidity during this bout - a number of things he shouldn't have been doing in there, which effectively shut his window of opportunity down.
I doubt they ever fight again, but if they did, Conor needs to show his opponent some respect in the stand up and treat him like he's supposed to instead of thinking it'll be a cakewalk as long as he doesn't get taken down. When Khabib actually dropped him, from his almost-square on position, you could see the shock on Conor's face. I doubt he gets caught like that if he wasn't standing as he was with so much nonchalance and overconfidence.
I highly respect your opinion in this thread but I don't agree. Conor faught like he always does. At 155 he's not a magician, as some say. His power and his weight doesn't translate well into the divison.
As I said, stylistically, I love Conor. He's got such grace but ultimately Tony is going to darce choke you or Khabib will break your face via gnp.
Or conversely, these fighters maybe shouldn't be a part of the UFC if they can't take a bit of hype and banter in the lead ups to their fights.

they don't appreciate game.I hope i dont get banned for this but I'd love to roll with you. I would make you suffer for 26 years until you appreciated ground game.
No because none of the stuff would be talked about if it wasn't for Conor.
Sport and politics don't mix. Smart fighters like Loma distance themselves from the agro. He was wearing a Russian flag with Kovalev and he brushed it off. His manager said don't ever call him Russian and he laughed it off. What is Conor thinking when he decides to delve into that? I think it's really stupid and he's getting involved in a thing that he does not understand.

I just think to make a proper assessment on Conor's power, or lack thereof, in this division, you've got to consider those crucial factors. It was spoken about before the fight that Conor's got little pop beyond the 2nd round, and that's doubly so after grappling, and even more on top when it's someone as fatiguing as Khabib doing it.I highly respect your opinion in this thread but I don't agree. Brave lad. I'm sure that was worth the end of his UFC career.

He was never going to let Conor slide for calling him out as a traitor on Instagram and Zubria did say in an interview with MMA Fighting earlier this week that he was going to go after Conor on the street after all this is done. Khabib's people care more about defending their honour and family than their MMA careers. Makhachev is going to get cut too.
It's a shame because so many of them are talented. And people wonder why Dagestani and Chechen fighters can't get US visas, and have to wind up doing fight night events in places like Brazil, Europe, and Asia.

Chael made a comment on this in the build up and about how we've see this fight 2 times already this year in Miocic v Ngannou and Till v Woodley. There'll only be 1 winner.Rogan is spot on here. Everyone knew this was going to be a stylistic referendum to see how a top class puncher would fare against a world class grappler and last night we got the answer to the question.
Hasn't fought in the UFC in 2 years (lost his last fight). Will probably get a nice reward for his actions from Kadyrov when he goes home. Not entirely sure how he got a visa to enter the US in the first place.

WTF does Kadyrov have to do with it? Khabib and his team are from Dagestan, Kadyrov is the head of Chechen Republic. Can you at least google stuff before posting?

He is talking about Tukhugov.

Zubaira Tukhugov (Khabib's teammate) is from Chechnya and Conor called him out on IG as a traitor for being with Dagestani people. Conor also called Kadyrov a 'crazy dictator' or something like that in the press conference and was basically trying to start shit between them.WTF does Kadyrov have to do with it? ”We give him [McGregor] his due. He is a great entertainer in the UFC, but lately he has acted like an outrageous clown who imagines himself to be a showman,” said Umarov. “What he blurted out at the press conference about Ramzan Kadyrov and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, apparently, he was trying to earn points. And this fact leads me to an alarming thought about the mental health of this man.

Turns out or resident Russian troll/ GRU rep didn’t bother to use the same google technology he recommended others use.
People say Khabib is boring but I found his style very entertaining. Maybe who he was facing factored into that but I'll definitely be looking out for his next fight.
This guy is from Grozny.
As a McGregor fan I just want to say that I know a lot of McGregor's actions have been way out of line but also two wrongs don't make a right. After seeing the fight here are my thoughts
- McGregor proved he has some level of ground game. He did a good job in defending some of the takedowns, particularly in the first round
- His striking however wasn't up to what we would expect
- Khabib proved his grappling is a really elite level
- The aftermath was horrible though. Seeing a "professional" jumping over the cage to attack a team is disgraceful. I know Conor has done a lot of bad things in the past which are unexcusable too but this kind of shit can cause fans to get seriously hurt. Also storming the cage to attack a fighter is terrible. Khabib's big moment will always be overshadowed by his horrendous actions
