Paul Daley?

I doubt it it's been 8 years since his last UFC fight, pretty sure Dana White has said he'll never fight in the UFC again.

Khabib is money though at the moment. Money > Morals in entertainment. I have no idea if Paul Daley wasn't even a hyped up fighter but Khabib if he continues to fight is box office.

What do you think that has to do with what happens immediately after a fight IN the octagon, which is supposed to be a sacred place. Kinda like the Holy Ground in the Highlander films.

Actions away from the octagon can be looked at from multiple angles and considerations; what happens in the octagon is much more cut and dry.

If Khabib is stripped off the back of this, nobody should be surprised.

You can't do what he did and not be in the line of fire for a DQ. It should have a very real chance of happening.

I was half expecting them to announce a DQ right then and there, tbh. Khabib has screwed himself. Royally.

They should be celebrating the victory now, not wondering about all the fallout that could come their way.

There was a number of times during the stand-up where Conor tried to be disrespectful and show he's the man instead of being about his business and treating Khabib as a legitmate threat standing up i.e. he believed far too much in his own hype to the point he betrayed his own style, like an idiot.

He's there effectively brawling just to show he's the man - what Khabib did was stupid too, just standing there trading to show Conor he ain't shit, so to speak. Machismo and raw hatred really blurred the lines there and I bet Conor's rueing that now because he took away his only chance to win by being so stupidly proud and egotistical.
People don't seem to be processing the stupidity of Khabib's actions, like it's a WWE event instead of the most viewed Championship event the sport has ever seen. Khabib could well be made an example of for that reason alone.

Unless they did something illegal within the match itself, how can you disqualify someone from a match that is already over?

Maybe you're right. Khabib should've just thrown stuff at him during a press conference or something. He'd probably get away with that

It’s a joke that McGregor has been given his cheque and Khabib not. McGregor threw the first post-fight punch inside the octagon. All cheques should’ve been withheld pending further investigation. White protecting his man again. A joke.

I'm assuming given his username that he doesn't live in one of those. Unless something drastic has happened in Rotherham recently :D

But he's well aware of those differences by the looks of it, different culture, different people, different custom etc.

In McGregor's mind everything is fair game in order to get under your opponent skin and get some egde in the fight because I suppose it's due to somewhat more liberal society he grew up in. Although he by his own admission grew up in one of the toughest and scariest part of Dublin so he should be aware of the repercussions when you talk trash.

On the other hand you have Khabib who hails from the part of the world where they are religious to a fault, where talking shiit about someone's family gets you hurt or even killed in some cases and as one member has said, they even have blood feuds there still, instances where kids are being home schooled out of fear that they might be harmed by the other wronged family etc.

Ok.

I read "some people" as in this thread. If you mean higher ups in UFC I agree. The special treatment he gets because he draws so much is a huge problem and has contributed to a lot of the problems we saw tonight.

I can't agree that someone getting away with something they shouldn't have means you should too. The solution is to punish both offenders, not neither! Tough to do retroactively but there needs to be a first for all enforcements. If they clamp down on this shit for everyone including the company golden boys I'd be happiest!
Absolutely. And this is the problem, by already pandering to Conor, the UFC leave themselves open to hypocritical actions.

They won't care about that, it's just annoying as a fan to see someone constantly take the piss and still get whatever he wants

I've seen the footage of him lightly shoving one ref in bellator. You're not calling that an "attack" are you?

He's gone to attack him. Pushing and shouting in someone's face while they try to walk away from you is trying to instigate a reaction, that that reaction could've been physical.

He had absolutely no business jumping into that cage and then becoming physical with a referee. But were there any consequences?

Maybe but i doubt he'll get a visa to the US again and he certainly won't be fighting in Vegas any time soon. So not sure how marketable he is right now.

Khabib will get back in. Daley obviously not.

Time will tell, personally i don't think he should be allowed to fight again. If they let Khabib away with attacking someone it could happen again. The stupidest thing about his actions are it could have started a full blown riot in the stadium.

Maybe he wasn't far off with the "backward" remark then?

Aye fair enough!

You'd hope this incident makes them realize but I doubt it

Pretty much confirms the backwards comment no? None of this is an excuse

I know which one I'd rather live in!

Obviously different and in different times but if Mike Tyson could fight in Las Vegas after biting Holyfields ear off then they can let a lot of shit slide. If NBA players a decade ago can attack fans and still play and earn ridiculous money then Khabib still has a chance, a good chance.

Two guys who jumped in will never fight in UFC again.

We will see what happens, when all the evidence is laid out. UFC will be able to back down on that statement when they realize Conor sucker punched a guy sitting on the fence which set the whole shit show off.

Is that a second guy coming in to hit him from behind?

If so. Amazing people in here are trying to defend these actions because the guy who lost is also a cnut. Some of you have fecked up ways of viewing the world. It's as bad as defending Conor for the shit he pulls

The ref himself didn't care (he said he's known Conor for years and don't want to take it anywhere) and I'd imagine Bellator were happy for the press coverage. They even invited him back.

Maybe he wasn't far off with the "backward" remark then?

But who's to be the judge and say which customs and believes are superior or better than the other ones?

I believe you missed my point, just because it's OK for Connor in his mind to do all the stuff he's doing and that isn't a big deal in the surroundings he grew up in, he should at least be well aware that not everyone and everywhere is the same.

In this particular case he called Khabib "backward" in the context of not drinking alcohol. Now most of us like to indulge in it occasionally, but there are people that don't.
