Johnson was very luck with that win IMO, I had him needing a KO in the last to win.

Weird that one judge sees it as a clear 30-27 win for one, while the other 2 have it 29-28 for the other guy.

Trying to find the highlights from the fight night, the first one i see, is the Johnson octagon interview.
What the feck went on in that fight? I mean, 2 judges had it 29-28 and the last one 27-30, how is that even possible?
All 3 rounds were close, Fili took the first thanks to that rear choke which almost finished johnson, the other two rounds could have gone either way. I had it 29-28 Johnson as well

Wouldn't be shocked either to be honest, just looking forward to the whole thing. Will be in LA for a few days then go to Vegas for the fight then back to LA for a bit then home. Tickets are going for crazy prices and have been tempted to sell but I don't think I could bring myself to do it

Just rewatched Dillashaw vs Garbrandt 2 - before the ref called it, Dillashaw had at least 30 unanswered strikes to Garbrandt's head  ("At least" due to the change in camera angles, not sure whether some were missed).

What I find incredible too is that in that moment where Garbrandt temporarily fazed Dillashaw to the floor, when the latter recovered to his feet, Dillashaw did 3 identical right hooks to Garbrandt's left side of his head before knocking him to the floor. Garbrandt's defence really is shody as feck.

Love Dillashaw - excited to know who he fights next.

I'm convinced Khabib won't show, no inside info just a hunch, hope I'm wrong. The whole lack of promotion etc just has me fearing the worst. Khabib did his whole just name me a location, then Conor was in Russia at the same stadium as him and there was no fake altercation etc. Again hope I'm wrong plus Ferguson getting rushed back like that to be on the card, doesn't feel right to me

Why should there have been an altercation at the WC final ? Conor just went to jail and has been battling a legal case as a result of the bus incident. It would be a massive risk for him to attempt some sort of fake confrontation with Khabib in Moscow just for the purpose of hyping up his fight with him (which let's face it, doesn't require much hype given everything that's already happened).

They've released the poster, the date and event and the tickets have already sold out for it. They'll start hyping it up more with videos/press conferences etc in the next month or so I'd imagine. They've got Woodley vs. Till and Shevchenko vs. Montano in a few weeks, that card needs hypin up[ far more than any Conor fight does.

what risk, UFC fighters are always engaging in fake confrontations in hotels and at pressers. I'm not talking about smashing windows, just the usual stare down bollicks, I thought the ufc would have been all over that. The fight doesn't need hyped of course but neither did his fight with Aldo but yet they went on a world tour and that fight originally didn't materialise.

hope your right but wouldn't read too much into the fact posters have been printed and tickets sold.

I'm sure they were both there to watch the final, not do any promotions. There will be plenty of time for that after 228 happens next week.

Yeah. Imagine UFC fecked with Putin's world cup final... Drumming up hype would have been the least of their worries

If Khabib can’t fight for any reason?
Along a similar principle to McGregor losing the belt, should it be on the line for McGregor-Ferguson if they make that fight?

Slightly different considering McGregor had a massive absence. But I wouldn't grudge it to be honest.

an Irishman travelling to Russia to watch France v Croatia, McGregor doesn't do anything without some kind of promo in it. He made a big enough deal posting photos and telling the world he was Putin's guest at the match. That was McGregor playing trying to play mind games on Khabib.I am glad it's been low key and I don't think there'll be much of anything except for fight week. It just seems strange the ufc isn't trying to milk it is my point.

He did take a pic with Putin which could be easily interpreted as doing a bit of promo.

Id say they'd make it an interim belt so they can promote a battle of the champions in the next fight

I'm not reading to much into it.

Posters is a form of promotion though, they've announced the full card on there as well.

Tickets selling out wihtout much promotion shows the scale of the fight.

I'm sure they'll hype it up loads but at the moment they need to hype Till vs. Woodley which needs a lot more promotion than any McGregor fight.

Also think they're being cautious not to burn the audience out. Imagine they did a MASSIVE pre promotion and the fight fell through?

Yeah. I think they're not getting carried away with it all as well. They're probably aware that's there's been some natural promotion as people are yding to see Conor back in the octagon as well.

Have a feeling that both titles will change hands at the weekend. I honestly can’t see Montano winning at all. She is durable but just feel like Valentina is going to light her up and the ref is going to jump in to save her. Similar to when JJ fought Esparza for the title.

Till I just think is too big and he’ll probably do the same thing he did against Wonderboy to just nullify the blitz attacks as Woodley does a very similar thing. Be intresting what happens if either connects and if Woodley decides to try and grind him out with the wrestling.

Some very intresting fights on the card tho, looking forward to it.

What's Tills ground game like? I've only seen his UFC fights against Cowboy and Wonderboy who were both strikers so have no idea what he's like if someone threatens takedowns.

Never really seen it myself either, I’ve seen bits of him just drilling jits and a few rolls in competitions and he looks decent enough but I would think it’s just his size compared to Woodley that will make it intresting. His wrestling probably isn’t anywhere near as good as Woodleys but he looks huge compared to Woodley and I’m guessing on the night he’ll probably be a good bit heavier as well.

Sure at some point it’ll probably get tested in the fight, think it’s probably going to be Woodleys best way to win but would never write off his right hand.

Yeah, the size difference in that face-off photo is kinda ridiculous, hopefully Till makes weight this time.

I love these Hardy break downs. He might be my favourite analyst I’ve seen of any sport. Gutted he can’t fight any more.

Till yesterday morning still 12 lbs over at 182 lbs. He claims he was that weight at same time for the Cerrone fight so hopefully no issues. He's very honest about the difficulty he has cutting weight. You'd imagine he'd be in a hurry to move up in weight though I do believe he has said he will defend the title if he wins. He's basically nearly a stone to lose for the weigh in, sounds a lot but he should be good for it.

If he wins I reckon he goes up and fights for the title and we get ANOTHER double champ situation possibly. The UFC's only known way of marketing people seems to be give them titles, hence all the interims/double champs. I reckon they give the winner of Conor vs. Khabib the GSP fight and make a 165 pound title for that.

I never really understood how some fighters go up a weight and instantly get a title shot there just because they hold the belt in a lighter division. It's completely ridiculous.

Fair play to Till for saying that he doesn't want an instant title shot (altough he'd be crazy not to take it) if he'd go up but that he would earn his shot in that weight instead.
