The most interesting thing about Aldo vs. McGregor for me now is that McGregor has gone out of his way to do something incredibly offensive to Aldo in person, and whilst Aldo may have been laughing and smiling in his face, I bet that affront will have stirred the hornet's nest and have Aldo put serious work into his training camp to batter seven bells out of McGregor.
What I'm saying is that McGregor is going to get the most amped up and tuned in Aldo he could face. It will be an immense feat should he go in there and hold his own, let alone win the fight. I think Aldo is really going to want to pulverize McGregor and put him in his place so I will be hugely impressed if he makes sure that doesn't happen win or lose.
McGregor looks wide open for a good striker with explosive forward movement to tag. This may be an illusion as we've yet to see what he's like when faced with someone whose movements he can't curtail, but from his fights thus far, he *appears* to leave his head way up there and it *looks* primed to be tagged by a better calibre of fighter than he's faced, but who knows?
McGregor's style and what he's about is still a bit of an enigma really. He has looked dominant and composed going forward and he's also controlled all his fights so far, but at the same time, he hasn't faced any of the top fighters in the division who have that bona fide rank and file in whatever their expertise is, so it's hard to say what he can or cannot do when or if pushed - it's a stratospheric leap to go from the likes of Siver to the top dog in the division, so we'll see if his skills take that leap with his mouth.
I like him, but he's either about to make a legend of himself or be totally humiliated, I feel.
