Just got caught up with this card. As so often happens, dull as dishwater on paper ends up being pretty entertaining in reality. Brilliant finish by Bobby Green. That post-fight interview with Cormier visibly panicking that Green was actually going to bring his dogs into the octagon cracked me up. Still not sure if he meant actual dogs mind you . Algeo looks very good. Pleased to see the lovely Karolina win convincingly too.

Oh for fecks sake. Banger of a card and actually on and a decent time - of course it falls apart. What happened to Charles?
Got a deep cut during the last round of the last sparring session before the fight

Has any fighter stated they would like to be backup for Costa Chimaev fight? I just did a quick check and doesn´t seem to be an obvious choice.

You couldn't ask for a better short-notice replacement than Volk in fairness. I hope the Costa vs Chimaev fight remains intact. Really looking forward to that one for some reason.
Usman vs Khamzat at middleweight confirmed, they've got two great replacement fights there, maybe better than the originals even if it's 2 guys coming up a division to step in.

 The UFC matchmakers get a lot of flak, much of it deserved, but that's fantastic work. As you say, they've probably managed to strengthen the card. That's some achievement with the top two fights falling away less than two weeks out.

That is as good as short notice replacements will get i guess! Not sure what to think about the matchup though, could it be a banger? Or will it be a more of a grappling chess game..?

I feel like more often than not when you get two grapplers it turns into a stand-up battle because neither can impose their game on the other and because it's so taxing on their cardio they don't even bother most of the time. If one of them were to try and do it I would look to Khamzat just because he's more explosive early on and might want to do it as a way of showing dominance, I know he didn't do it in the Burns fight but I think he was respectful of the submission threat from Gilbert where as I don't know if Usman is as strong off his back, although getting him there is going to be the real challenge. It's a really intriguing fight either way though and I'm kinda glad to see Usman jump at the challenge and potentially get a shot at Strickland for the title instead of staying at Welterweight and fighting the same people he's fought as champ.

The ufc are a disgrace. They'd bend every rule just to get their cash cow back. I couldn't care less about McGregor. Disgusting human being.

Martinez vs Yanez next, probably the fight I'm most looking forward to on this card.

Should be a good one.

Demolidor Pereira looks good at middleweight! This crazy fecker is so enjoyable to watch. Amazing he managed to make 170 in the past.
The amount of weight some of these guys cut is unreal, they look half dead the day before they're due to step into the cage with another killer, we can't be seeing the best of them.

My legs hurting watching those Martinez kicks.

Looks like Yañez has his knee ligaments badly compromised.
It's fascinating to me watching someone throw those so hard, he must have steel legs to just throw them over and over, he's got a pretty unique style in that regard.

Yeah he must have worked hard conditioning those legs to be so confident to throw those kicks at full power and speed every time.

Good luck finding Martinez a next opponent up the rankings :nervous:

Oh great, that power slap dogshit is still a thing...

Main event next, should be some more fun kicks in this one.
