No, he did not. I see what you’re saying but the whole evolution of him catching Sterling’s leg and then sweeping him is more control than 90% of what takedowns achieve.
Just watching that bout again and it’s crazy how far Yan is ahead. Apart from flying knees, Sterling looked helpless.
As they say, styles make fights and Yan is a horrible, horrible match up for Sterling. Although, none of us could have predicted this with any certainty beforehand.

Yeah. Aljo was on a 5 win streak over top talents, had just bullied Cory. After that, I was expecting a war and maybe even the upset.
Aljo might have suffered some kind of mental breakdown at some point or something because it looked like a pro vs a debutant.

Prime, juiced TJ would have been tough for Yan but not now. Yan would take the decision in my opinion.

I’d say that Yan is just getting better and better. I thought he had a lot of potential after Dodson and Faber but I was completely sold after Aldo dismantling.
I would disagree if I’m honest, I don’t think Aljo bullied Sandhagen - he just subbed him. Bullied would incidentally be like Yan vs Aljo and Yan just finishing him off. It’s semantics, I know.
I also don’t know about Aljo having any breakdown. He seems to have a good team around him and he actually seems like a decent guy but he clearly, clearly didn’t expect Yan to be so fecking good. Literally expect from flying knees nothing worked against him and even then Yan seemed undeterred.
Aye of course I’m watching it. My boy Poirier is going to get his strap! I don’t watch undercards and prelims that much. I’m not that big of a fan. If I hear about a name, I might catch them but I just stick to main cards. What I do though is; I rewatch a lot of fights quite meticulously.
I assume we’ll find out next year. This is what I love about mma. Look at BW…all those killers and they all fight each other. If this was boxing they’d all be ducking each other forever
We won’t though, Toolie. TJ is nowhere near the same fighter he was. He’s like 35. His prime was about 5 years ago. Yan is only hitting his prime. It’s a pointless fight for Yan apart from further profile.

Sure he’s not in his prime, their primes are miles apart. If they had coincided then they’d no doubt have fought then. Fortunately, they’ll still fight
