The Manchester Title Race

Most seem to think City will win on GD if it comes to that - we're more than capable of handing out a serious battering to a team/s like QPR or Fulham at home, combine that with even a 1 goal defeat for them to the likes of Chelsea or Arse and their advantage could be down to 1, 2 or 3 goals, its not like they're at +20, it single digits.... Mind you you, if City go on a rampage one of these days, then it will be advantage to them, but not yet, not with 10 games still to play

How come the City v Chelsea match has been put back to next Wednesday?

There goes any hope of Kompany still being out.

In a survey run by Barclays, 67% of PL bosses believe Man City will lift the title ahead of United.

Bit surprising that. Oh well, I prefer it when people are writing us off.

/\ When was that survey conducted tho? Not since the weekend, presumably.

If it was conducted a 3 or 4 weeks ago, which wouldnt surprise me in the least, (there is always a massive lag with the results of these things being published) then it is hardly surprising.

Seriously? We should be pretty clear favourites at the moment, especially among people with a clue (like managers).

It must have been 16 managers who replied. Who is the joker who voted for Steve Kean? (And Larsson and Bellamy for signings of the season?)

Edit: No, what Adebesi said. The survey probably wasn't from after this round.

The Manchester derby back to Saturday now?

No. tbh on one hand that's the problem with changing the fixtures when they did but I guess plenty will need to arrange travel arrangements etc and need as much time as possible to do so

Wednesday will be very interesting, City's home form v Chelsea resurgence it's pretty much that simple. It's probably best to prepare for a City win and be pleasantly surprised should it not materialise.

Whatever happens we got a massive game out of the way today and now only 4 away games to go.

Title number 20 is very close

I can honestly see City dropping points in one of the next two games. Stoke away is a massive ask for them after Chelsea midweek.

The pendulum has swung massively in United's favor now. We have four home games, and two winnable away games before the Derby. City have four away games and three home games, with one being quite difficult. With City dropping points in 50% of their away games I fully expect them to drop a few points before the Derby game.

After those two games they will be tied with us again... but we will have a game in hand. And they still have to go to the Emirates.

I'm pretty confident of being 4 ahead by the derby. But any less and it becomes a must win.

And thereby is the key factor in their run in they may kick themselves into gear and beat both Chelsea and Stoke but to keep it up when going to Arsenal and Norwich before the derby is going to be a huge ask.

We just have to keep doing our job...

Will Mancini turn to that twat from Argentina on Wednesday?

It would be nice to be 4+ points ahead by the time we play City. Then go into their house and win the league....priceless.

Nobody should be pinning their hopes on Stoke, City will beat them comfortably. Stoke will have a poor end to the season.

They never have before really. As a matter of fact with them being out of all cups and Europe they'll be up for it massively, and the Brit is always a hard ground to go to.

Nah, the FA Cup yesterday was Stoke's end of the season. They've already played something like 46 games in all competitions, have no real hopes for Europe, and need 1 win or so to guarantee safety.

They'll play well for the last couple of games for the season, but I can see the club going on a mental holiday for the next few weeks.

Stoke have a half decent home record, and play well against the top teams. City have had an awful run of away games, they not guaranteed a win anywhere right now

It's probably best not to get our hopes up, best we expect to need a draw at the wasteland come Apr 30.

It´s all set up for Tevez to be the hero again.

Why would it be a must win? It will be a must win if we're behind, if we're in front a draw will be sufficient in any case.

apart from it being a relatively comfortable run, every game is either at home or local until Sunderland (a) - only complacency should hinder us now.

Why are our next to KO's on a monday? A Monday night at Blackburn is a bit worrying. Any chance of that being moved to the weekend now that we are out of the Europa?

I feel more comfortable about our away games than I do our home ones.

Wouldn't have thought it being scheduled for the Monday night had anything to do with the Europa in the first place.

As far as the league goes, we are in a very strong position now, and barring yet another glut of injuries we should have enough to win it fairly comfortably from here. Of course, that's assuming City drop a few points here and there (which I think they will), so we need to bear in mind they still have it in their own hands at the moment.

It´s all set up for Tevez to be the hero again.

Or the villain for City by disrupting the squad again. It's a big call for Mancini. One way or another, Tevez is likely to play a part...

There'll be some nice dressing-room discontent when they bring him back, despite what the gobshites at the back are saying.

I'd be pretty fecked off if I lost my place at the business end of the season to some cnut who'd decided to take a six month holiday.

Feeling more and more confident now. Think City will drop points against Chelsea, but not so sure about Stoke like some on here are suggesting.

Ideally we'll be 4 points ahead by the derby game and so even a draw there would be great for us, but I still reckon that derby game could end up being the title decider.
