Gaming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I just had a look and I've played 10 hours more than you. What have you been doing with your time? One of the great things about these games is how everyone tackles it differently.
I’d say 10 + hours has been building my house and making alterations

Didn't even know that was a thing!
Just up the hill overlooking Tarrey Town. it’s great

every time I send link to bed or to level up hearts and stamina I send him back home to recuperate and get it done at home

you can stable one of your horses, get a little pond and hang up your favourite weapons and shields. Oh and get a painting of your favour picture as well

Yeah I love it. Spent way too many rupies in it. I tend to put the unique weapons in the house (the boomerang from windwaker that I found in the depths, hylian shield, dusk bow). Feel like it'd be a shame to break them.

I'm still playing it. Think im on 120 shrines finished but i just open the teleport and move on at this point. I'm vaguely trying to upgrade random gear but im just wandering about doing a few side quests i missed mostly. Its just hard to enjoy other stuff after playing this. Maybe i should play wind waker or breath of the wild again.

Ah, sounds very much like the one in Hateno village from BotW then.

I've never sent Link to sleep in an Inn or whatever. I don't see the point. If he ever needs hearts recovering from battle I just go to the hot springs by Death Mountain and carry on.

I have only done it a few times before a big fight where I want the extra hearts from sleeping in a soft bed/waterbed/or the Goron massage included

Plan was to do the phenomena in Gerudo tonight but I’ve spent about 4 hours doing completely different things around that. Currently trying to stand in the hot sun to beat an old dude.

Wouldn't it be quicker and cheaper to cook a meal with hearty ingredients?
Sure, I even did the garden quest and planted a crop of hearty radishes as well I can go grab. It's just a quick splurge thing not a necessity at all. Inns are like the stables in this game. Not really necessary.

If they didn't make me go to stables and use a horse I could do completely without. Just use vehicle or fly.

I was hoping to finish the game before my first baby shows up but it seems very unlikely now, there's so much to fecking do. Maybe I'll have to start ignoring stuff and focus on the main quest and shrines but I like spending 3 hours trying to build hovercrafts to transport Koroks :(

The sages following you around is really annoying tbh. Also apparently the Goron one makes the hovor bike all unbalanced.

Was exploring around and accidentally almost started the final boss fight. Felt like it would be the last fight so googled it quickly if the location is where it was before I jumped in. Glad I did... Still have the gerudo phenomena to do and then a bunch of side quests, though could do those after always.

You can turn them off from your inventory. I only ever kept the wind one active.

I finally finished it today. The whole final section was really well done.

Yeah the sages really feck me off apart from Tulin. Tried to jump on a Lynel yesterday but they kept getting in the way and making me do their actions instead. The water one is fecking shite.

He's not bad as a heat shield in Gerudo desert. But i never use him anymore. I dont even like Tulin, if i could disable him outside of gliding i would. I leave the Gerudo sage on because shes quite good at clearing boulders and mines and while distracting her power isn't a liability. I sometimes mess around with the last one because its kind of neat but its a bit of a gimmick.

Me and my son had some fun earlier figuring out what my 147 hours on this game so far equates to, and it's essentially 25% of my waking hours spent on it since the day it arrived. I'm not sharing that information with my wife.

Yeah. Tell me about it. Surely after the first time, it should just flash up as a title like when you encounter a boss enemy. And why is the skip button different for that than every other thing you want to skip?

It also only lets you skip it now and then. Other times you have to watch the whole cutscene.

So the blood moon is a mechanic that serves as a memory dump for the game to stop it crashing, which is why it’s not always a regular event, if you go round battering hordes of enemies and messing with the world it will happen sooner.

That’s why even when you skip it you get a brief loading time

This has made me appreciate it more. Why dont other games do something like this instead of letting their game have a full on shit fit?

That's never happened to me. I just hit the + button after a few seconds and it skips. It's just a few seconds too much when you've seen it a couple dozen times already.

Yeah I’ve tried hitting that button and sometimes it just does nothing. I guess make sense that you can’t always if the game needs to refresh loads of enemies.

Found this hard to get back into after beating the main story. After a few weeks of not playing it, i picked it up and doing shrines mainly since they have good puzzles. But after a few hours i feel it gets a bit tedious.

Yeah the story will be the last thing I do because I know once that’s done the rest becomes pointless.

By that time you will be so OP that the idea of a final boss is pointless.

Why does Zelda have tears tatooed under her eyes? Is she a freaking emo?

im sorry but isnt Totk the direct sequel to Botw? Why is Zelda acting like yeah that Gannondorf has an evil vibe? He was the main fecking villian in the previous game

Im sorry to ask but is there really anything worthwhile in depths apart from gloom resistant gear and that 1 story mission? Because i havnt yet found a good reason to spend hours and hours throwing my brightseeds and accidentally my weapons around.

because Ganon wasn’t in BOTW and technically they didn’t know Ganon turns into Ganondorf

Why are you doing this to yourself?

Its pretty clear you're not a fan by this point, which is absolutely fine. But if you're not enjoying it, maybe you'd be better playing something else you do enjoy and trading it in. It's not going to get any better. I enjoy the game as a whole, but I found activating all the light roots a bit of a slog.

I love the game but I get what he's saying about the depths, I don't enjoy them at all and only go to them if it's for the story or a quest. They're a real drag.
