Gaming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Is it just me that constantly runs out of arrows?

I just make it a habit to buy them whenever I come across a shop now, even if I have loads. They can go from hundred to zero real quick when fighting a Gleok, shooting brightblooms when in the depths or using bows that shoot multiple arrows at once.

I've got over 80 korok seeds on me and I've only bumped into Hestu once. I tried to get into the Lost Woods but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. There must be an NPC somewhere who gives you a hint. Still plenty of places to explore mind.
I've still only done two of the phenomena. No clue how @Gehrman finished it so quickly. Surely you must have missed so much?
I think I've played around 40 hours. I've done one phenomenon and unlocked maybe a bit more than half the map. I've poked around a bit more in the depths as well to start the Yiga clan questline as well. I'm starting to enjoy the depths too. I reckon I'll easily get to 100 hours before completing the game.

If you make it a habit to break crates and barrels you'll generally find quite a few. That said arrows are so damn useful that you burn through them quite quickly.

Oh man I don’t know how you’re coping with such a small inventory  I can give you a hint if you want.

I did for a long while but I started breaking every crate and barrel anywhere I saw them as habit and getting all the arrows. Now I never have to buy any. At the Ganandorf battle Quest in main story but was on Diablo early access all weekend now back at work.

I also break every barrel and I still run out

Anybody beaten it yet?
Nah, made an attempt but you need a LOT of gloom cure food to get to him. Silver Lynel near entrance chewed through the little i had and i'm always putting off cooking, which i find a bit of a drag. I'll run out of food at some point and that'll force me to get cooking, make another attempt then. Only had 2 of the phenomenon done at that stage, maybe if i do the rest it'll make him easier to get to in some way?
Up to 97 shrines now.

My switch thing showed i played the game for 70 hours by that time. But the switch doesnt discrimate the time spent in the switch menu and the game.

I have the final quest but been building up my weapons first so I have a complete set of Silver Lynel 130+ damage weapons , Lynel bows and Master sword. But I need to help more Koroks to get space. Shields seem to need the least space since mine rarely start failing.

Were you doing gloom resistance or only curing/heart recovery? I made some of the 30 minute long resistance foods but the issue is if you are needing to eat a lot during a fight you wipe the effects if you have other effect foods you have to eat to live. So i made a lot of hearty elixrs with no effects other than heart recovery just in case I didn't want to lose a particular buff only eat.

I had 2 pieces of food that cured about 3 hearts. I had the depths chest piece too i think. Probably should have known i'd need more. No harm done i guess, i'll know better for next time.

Haven't gotten close but on the gloom stuff, can't you just wear the gloom set you get from the Poe vendor? Not sure how much it stacks of you have all 3 pieces

I get that they don’t really do voice acting but some of the moans and grunts from the NPCs  does it have to be so sexual

Amazing how easy it is to miss stuff because you’re dossing around, I’ve done 3 temples and countless shrines and only today went back to lookout landing to find there’s a way to get the shrine tracking like the last game

I feel like I need to make a list of things to do. If I stop posting and leave the game for a day I can’t remember half the shit I was supposed to do that I got distracted from.

I did all 4 phenomena and 100 shrines without assistance before getting it :(

It’s kind of annoying when it starts beeping near one because you feel obligated to find it instead of stumbling upon it naturally. Especially if it’s underground or something and you can’t find the entrance.

It stacks up to 3. I only had 2 at the time and the legs weren't upgraded, so any gains from the gloom resistance were lost from getting hit harder when using them

Stumbled upon Thunder Gleeok today, I don’t believe he’s actually possible to beat.

The sound design of the grunts is one of my biggest pet peeves with this game. Women in particular.

The underground indicator is the worst. I spent 30 minutes mindlessly looking around for it, but to no avail. Could have spent my time much better doing other mindless shit

Yeah I'm worried about what the feck people think I'm watching in here. Ridiculous

Good session tonight. Shrines, Towers, Fairies, Hestu and a jaw dropping ascent to arrive at the wind temple which is my first one. It really makes a difference when you've got an evening to spend on it.

Key to those is find some way to not get burned, frozen, or shocked. Multiple ways to do that which makes it interesting. And a lot of arrows

Did anyone else just build a massive bridge for that bit before the Zora dungeon to activate the waterfall? Wasn't sure where to go but there were tons of planks... So just did the logical thing. Felt like cheating

Changed my mind on this as 90% of chests seem to be arrows

How do you break crates you find? I don’t like to hit them as it uses up weapon durability so I currently lift them up and drop them with Ultrahand, but that takes longer than I’d like.

Uktrahand or if you're keeping a rock or boulder weapon handy for breaking ore deposits. They're cheap to make so I don't see a reason why you'd be worried about durability on them.

Homing arrows make it fairly straightforward, but you need quite a lot of them. Just spam homing arrows until he drops and then beat him up.

The King Gleeok on the other hand…

Arrows I do in abundance, keese eyeballs not so much but probably about 50 on me total so sounds doable. Up until now I had zero idea combining arrows with keese eyeballs had this effect though... man, this game.

If it’s where I think I am now then no. I’m breaking the rocks in the pipes but I am now stuck at the one that has a grate in front of it.

EDIT: solved it.
