Television The Last of Us - TV Series HBO | NO GAME REFERENCES OR SPOILERS | Receives 24 Emmy nominations

Of course he was right, the utilitarian decision Marlene came to was wrong.

Plus the episode makes her look worse . Given she was there just after Ellie's birth and her close relationship with mom, she's either incredibly stupid not to figure out the cause of immunity or if she did, why not create a program to recreate Ellie's voluntarily, instead of risking everything on one teen.

Being willing to straight up sacrifice Ellie without a back up with what she knows is silly but most importantly like most ultilitarians she wouldn't put herself through it for the greater good, which is an option with her knowledge from the second she knew Ellie was immune.

She had all the knowledge and took away Ellie's choice and Joel's ability to accept that choice had Ellie made it.
You’d be right if he would only save Ellie. But he kills many people on his way — literally, not hypothetically by not doing something — to save her. It is a trolley problem but both Joel & Marlene choose to interfere with the track.

You’re proving that Marlene was ethically wrong, not that Joel was ethically right.

Yup that's fair actually to a point, but Joel's hand felt forced. He was essentially given the choice of walk away and let a 14 year old girl be murdered, for what may or may not be the cure without her consent or be shot.

All Marlene had to do was offer Ellie a choice. The entire mess is one of Marlenes creation.

Essentially Joel kills a lot of people but he did it to a group of people who were in the process of murdering a child with no guarantee it will be a cure.

I genuinely don't see how anything is wrong in that. Not only is it the human decision but it's literally standing up to the bad guys

Weird way of saying it's not confirmed and you're regurgitating rumours as fact.

The rumours are coming from the game developer who is also a part of the HBO show. Take it for what it is, I dont think you can confirm these things that many years out, but you can develop a plan. This is from mid February from the developer himself. There has been more discussion since then.

Maybe I'm misreading that article, but as far as I can tell it doesn't say anything at all about what you said.

Great story. Those who have played the game, how is the 2nd part?

It's another great story in my opinion, but definitely divided people up for understandable reasons.

Do yourself a favour and don't Google it, I'd be surprised if you avoid any form of spoiler alongside just the title.

There has definitely been rumours, which is definitely what this article is about. But at this stage there has been no confirmation whatsoever about a third game.

The article is badly written, it's like one of those typical clickbait things. Druckmann actually "no comment" responds in this article because they're focusing on multiplayer stuff for Part 2, not planning Part 3. The only bit they mention is they've drafted a minor part of a story, which indicates it's nowhere near finished or would ever be right/get released.

Just completed it. The story is less linear than part 1 but it works, and because of it you feel every motion and question a lot.

Liked Bella Ramsey a lot more at the end, finally got the subdued, conflicted Ellie that made so much sense in the game. She's done "aggressive Ellie" well enough throughout, but they finally gave us the other side Ellie which is my favourite part of her character.

The dude literally says no comment. Nowhere in his actual quotes does he say a third game is coming out during season 3, and seasons 4 and 5 will be based on the third game.

He doesn't even know if he's getting 5 seasons let alone planning like that. A studio whos notorious for taking their time with their games and happy to delay release, having to stick to a rigid timeslot for a TV show?

Sigh, I said there has been more said about it. You can find it. If you don't think he is teasing about the third game, I don't know what to tell you. The article does address splitting game two into two seasons, it also comments that after he said no comment, he has been teasing about more. Anything past that is just a plan. I have no doubt there will be a game three. They have a lot of time to develop it.

That's pretty cool to know that the video game versions of Joel and Ellie have been part of the show.

Last night was fantastic and looking forward to the new season.

Up next....Succession!

Fantastic first season. I was skeptical going in, but I have to say they absolutely nailed it.

I can't wait for a second season because I think the storyline of the second game is even more intriguing

Great story. Those who have played the game, how is the 2nd part?
Divisive story but a great one for me, and I'd say more interesting. If told well, I think it will turn out better than the first season.

My only major gripe was the lack of infected in the end. I didn’t want to see them every minute of every episode but would have been good to see Ellie and Joel face more of them than they did, but overall a brilliant adaptation. Gonna binge it soon.

Massively inferior to the original, bit too long and got very boring in places.

The 1st game is far superior how that transfers to T.V not sure.

So to clarify, there's currently no confirmation of a 3rd game or 5 seasons and you are doing exactly what I said, regurgitating rumours?

Gonna agree with @esmufc07 here. Straight up wrong.

Definitely example of how divisive that 2nd game was :D

So you have done nothing to read further, got it!
Point me to where it's been confirmed that:

"Second and third season will be from game two
During season three, game three will be released.
Season four and five from game three."

You made that statement as if it was absolute fact when it's literally speculation based off rumours and supposed "teases". If you don't know the difference between fact and speculation just say rather than going on as if I'm the jackass for pointing out no one knows shit right now.

Cracking finale. Interesting to see so many side with Joel. In the game it felt like a terribly selfish decision in the circumstances.

It was a decent ending, did feel a bit like a game, actually.

I felt the complete opposite after part 1 tbh. How could you not want to save her after all the shit Joel and her went through!

100%. I think that’s the greatness of it. You WANT Joel to do it after the bond they’ve formed despite knowing it’s the morally wrong and selfish thing to do.

Yeah plus getting a cure felt like a “well, so what? There’s no infected left anyway”.
