Television The Last of Us - TV Series HBO | NO GAME REFERENCES OR SPOILERS | Receives 24 Emmy nominations

Wonderful episode. Almost no action at all and yet still so engrossing. Also very funny at times.

Loved Tommy’s reaction to the communism bit as a Texas man

So Pedro Pascal after making a sci film where he accompanied a younger person through a strange and dangerous planet then goes onto the Mandolarian, where his character accompanied a youngling across a strange and dangerous galaxy which becomes a huge hit, then the guy is onto the last of us where he etc, etc.......

Typecasting?

Narcos?

Loved the episode but still preferred Episode 5 to it. Also, I feel rather blessed that I haven't played the game and can continue to be surprised and totally unaware of what might come next.

Oberyn in GoT too.

He's been great in everything I've seen in him. Quality actor.
He was also the only good thing about Kingsman 2, which is impressive considering how bad that film was despite having Colin Firth in it.

Really loved this episode. The scene where Joel lays bare his doubts and fears to Tommy was phenomenally acted by PP. Also, special shout out to the old couple at the beginning, it was like watching my grandparents.

As a side note, if you want to avoid any spoilers of Season 2 I would avoid the official Podcast this week. M&D were a little too giddy with their own cleverness this week and let something(s?) slip.
I listened to it and I'm really annoyed. The previous episodes have been spoiler free so I dont know they let stuff slip so easily in this one

My only complaint really so far is I wish we’d see more of the infected/clickers etc. could have done with a few lingering ones at the University (that segment was tough in the game!)

Maybe I'm a bit of a soft flower, but I'm happy there's not too many. The relief I felt when they left Tommy and just did the 5 day trip without any problems. Seemed a lovely journey.

Yeah I liked it too, was funny they kept going on about the river of death and Tommy saying how awful the trek to Colorado is and they had no issues, til the end, obviously. It was meant to be a character driven episode after the action of last week anyway so it would've detracted from it.

The chemistry on screen between the two is great. Its been a fantastic adaptation so far.

Agree with this. I've only played it through once and i was sure that part was quite difficult. I was worried my memory was hazy.

The adaptation all in has been fantastic though - far better than i expected.

i had to search for one separately but i found it, there is one. i think it's a
big flashback episode focused around Ellie.

I've spoilered this because people won't want to know! Be more careful please.

Definitely a quality actor, except for that abomination that was wonder woman 2. Puke. But no one/nothing could have saved that!

He's great in Massive Talent as well.

Apologies bud, and thank you! I don't post much in these and carelessly thought that wouldn't be spoiler-worthy.

Yeah forgot about that, i watched it recently actually but obviously, it was all about the Nic Cage

What film is that?

I think my personal favorite is episode 6, the most recent one. Can't wait for the next episode.

As someone who hasn't played the games, really enjoying it so far - thought it would just feel a bit like a Walking Dead reboot but the way it's done is great. Properly invested.

Yeah they haven't really set a foot wrong yet it seems. Not surprised with the talent involved.
Would be fun to re-read the 1st pages of this thread, so many people were adamant it would be shit, even when all the talent involved (Druckman & Mazin as the co-creators, Pedro Pascal, etc.) was announced.

Some were crying about the acting from the trailer, or how its destined to fail because it will either have changes or because other video game adaptations were poor? Or something.
That one dude who had a meltdown still my favourite

Game spoiler

I had a really weird glitch when I played Last of Us 2 where in a flashback scene, Joel's head got stuck up Ellie's bum. Have they included that in the series yet?

There was the meltdown one post episode 3, where the guy lost it at Pogue. Then there was a guy before the release of the show who very clearly wanted it to fail, and yeah basically predicted the end of days from the 1st teaser.

Wasn't that the same guy? I think Norman never liked the games or story so he was always going to be in here disliking it.

Yeah. It took me a minute to warm up to it as I played the game so knew where the first couple of eps were headed but I have to say, it's stellar work, especially for those who haven't played the game.

Now this teams needs to handle Bioshock
