Foxy from the newbies guessed correctly for #8. It was Hercules from the PS1 (also got a couple of the last lot right too before you lot).

Someone promote him/her!

Probably way off the mark but #14 sounds like it could be Commandos on the PC

#3 sounds like Banjo Kazooie or something.

#6 Kirby?

#9 I'd love to say CoolSpot!

#14 absolutely sounds like a cutscene pre-boss fight/escape from a Final Fantasy game.

Nope, nope and nope.

Probably way off the mark but #14 sounds like it could be Commandos on the PC

Nope.

#2 is that legend of kyrandia

Nope.

I think it's time you started handing out some clues Olly.

2) Very, very, very underrated SNES platformer, that is linked in some way to one of the games in the first part
3) A PS1 game that wasn't really received that well
6) Awesome prequel to one of the best games ever. From the 16-bit era.
9) In this game you control the character as he has to find his family flag
14) Monsters, Nazis, Zombies...

I'm a bit annoyed i didn't get it sooner, seeing as i still own the bloody thing!

I think Jveezy is up next, i've gone and made one of these as well so i'll go after him if that's alright Olly?

Ladies and gentlemen it's time for

OC Remix Quiz 1

To explain thoroughly, Overclocked Remix is a site where a bunch of musicians, arrangers, and songwriters remix their favourite video game tunes. The site started around the same time as the Caf and accepted a lot of mixes in the early days. Now they have a strict judging process that rewards originality and creativity so doing something as simple as swapping instruments, jacking up the tempo, and adding drums just doesn't cut it anymore. They want to see you play around a bit with the melodies.

So for this challenge I have 18 songs that are a bit more recognizable than Olly's but are hopefully hidden well enough by the arrangers' remixing techniques that they're not quite so easily identified. Once you guess correctly I will embed the original video alongside a video of the full remix. Hopefully this will be a nice way for you to discover some pretty awesome mixes of your old favourite tunes.

Also bear with me. I'm in California and I'll be in meetings throughout the day. You'll get some of these pretty quickly and I might not be able to respond right away.

Hints may or may not be revealed upon request. No game series appears more than once and none of the songs come from games released after 1999.

Nice one Jveezy, never heard of Overclocked before but some of those were really good.

7 is F-Zero, 11 is Pokemon, is 13 Final Fantasy VI (i think it's a weird version of Kefka's theme), 15 is ringing bells, is 16 Final Fantasy VIII?

The dancy techno ones are gonna take a bit of deciphering!

7 is F-Zero

Yes.

11 is Pokemon,

Yes.

is 13 Final Fantasy VI (i think it's a weird version of Kefka's theme)

Yes.

15 is ringing bells, is 16 Final Fantasy VIII (maybe i'm a lion?)

15 isn't hidden all that well but only if you know the song. Wrong on 16.

I need to take a dump and a shower. I'll be back to post videos.

#1, Chrono Trigger. #6, Streets of Rage. I think #9 is Sonic and Knuckles. #12 kind of reminds me of Sonic 3 for some reason, but I don't think it is.
