The Former United Youth/Reserves Thread

Ramazani was sent off for Almeria today after pulling back a player while he was on a yellow.

Puigmal played 750 mins for Almeria in La Liga last season but only 232 mins so far this season, typically as a late sub.

One of my favourite academy players, saw his debut (all five minutes or so) live too.

Having a feeling he will move back to England this summer.

Yeah if not then in the future and he's still a very good prospect now he's solidified his reputation playing as both an AM and CM through the middle. He does need to score more goals if he's going to play in the hole as his main selection though

I saw an MEN article I think where he mentioned leaving was difficult for him. Back in England hopefully he would be more visual to Southgate too. Definitely matured.

Anyone watched Qarabag v Leverkusen? How did Kovar play?

Pretty good weekend for Luca Ercolani. He graduated and earned his degree in food science & gastronomy, while also scoring the winning goal for Foggia against top of the table Juve Stabia in Serie C.

I recall summer of 2008 Fabio and Rafael were signed, then the winter window Zoran Tosic and De Laet plus Macheda was there and made some impact...

It seemed like a good group of young players. All of them had good careers after leaving. It was hard for them to compete with the squad we had playing first team at the time...

What a brave fella, good luck Joe and family.

Just realised D'mani Mellor is playing for Rochdale. Replaced Sam Mather today.

Also noticed that Tom Sang plays for Port Vale with James Wilson (and Dan Gore, if we can count him in). Wilson's career definitely didn't work out as expected or at least hoped ...

Former schoolboy Owen Hampson makes a Sheffield United squad for the first-time tonight. Brereton-Diaz, Norwood & McAtee also all former United academy players who are involved.

Former Academy player Ben Brereton Diaz has scored for Sheffield United, huge goal for them. It was against... oh, against United. gdi.

Ethan Galbraith wins both the Manager’s Player of the Season as well as the Players’ Player of the Season at Leyton Orient and the Supporters’ Club Starman award.

Wonder if he’ll have any Championship clubs sniffing around

Injuries ruined Wilson's progress. D'Mani still technically a Wycombe player but don't expect him to stay there. They've got Richard Kone as their star striker now.

Demetri Mitchell is now at Exeter City, played 23 games this season, with 4 goals.

Been out since the start of November with an ACL. Interesting to see what happens this summer as he's out of contract, without that injury there's no doubt he would have been looking at a move to the Championship but I'm guessing sides might not be quite as keen now.

I did wonder why he was not in their squad recently when they played at Northampton, thought he might be injured, but an ACL is severe. I wish him well in his recovery.

Kovar played for Leverkusen in the semi against Roma. Strangely didn't really have anything to do the whole game.
Had one decent save, had one brilliant pass after a Roma corner sending a quick counter attack that should have ended with a goal and completely missed a cross in the last minute which should have ended with a Tammy Abraham goal. that's it really

Max Taylor on as a sub for Solihull in the National League playoff final. Will want to have an impact as his parent club Rochdale have released him so he'll be clubless after this

Nicholas Ioannou promoted to Serie A with Como. 3 goals & 3 assists in 25 appearances from left-back, although he lost his place as starter towards the end of the season.

Ethan Galbraith has been called up to the NI squad for the first time since November 2021.
