I thought you of all people would get it being a WW player. Imagine lynch and slaughter just happening whenever there are enough votes in, the whole structure and fun of the game would go out of the window, along with the personal time management that set deadlines allows for.
I would be happy to know the results now.

I have all picks. Are all managers here?
I changed my pick, so I don't mind finishing the round now. Though, if one of the managers really doesn't show up for his 3rd attempt or the next round in the next 24hours, we should extend the deadline until noon Wednesday, which was the schedule we agreed on in the beginning. It would be unfair otherwise, in case someone can't get online until Wednesday morning and doesn't know that we changed something 'again'

I avoided that discussion, because I never want to see that game again. What a nightmare it was.
Hehe - I know. It was a great match, though - one for the books. I remember watching it in a restaurant (for lack of a better word) in Italy (I was forced on a five day vacation to Rimini by my girlfriend at the time): a tiny screen, luckily I had managed to get a seat pretty close. But the table that had the best view of the screen was occupied by Germans - they'd showed up early, wisely enough. They were all good lads (well, most of them were older lads, but they were all good) but they were overly confident about the match. They treated it like a walk-over, basically - just a slightly inconvenient hurdle to pass on the way to the semifinal. I agreed with them, pretty much, but I did try to tell them that this Bulgaria team shouldn't be taken lightly. Best team they'd ever sported at the World Cup - and so forth.
Well, we all know what happened - and I must say I gave those lads (and elder gents) a hard time when Bulgaria scored. They were absolutely stunned, just couldn't believe it. And in fairness, Germany had the chances to put it to bed - which is never remembered in the official fairytale version, of course. They could've been up by three before Bulgaria grabbed the equalizer - but nobody remembers that now. It was a giant killing, really - but it was a giant killing by a good side. World Cup stuff of legends in every way.

I was actually doubtful for tomorrow being on a PC at noon but had told kps to do it, so I'd actually prefer if we are done with it now as many have still not added kps to the convos.

It is not remotely the same thing. Whole point of WW is that you need time to change your votes when people make cases for and against. Here when someone makes a pick it is for his team only, giving people the luxury of 24 hours to discuss it in the draft thread is not a requirement here at all.

I'm fine, the only thing likely to hold you up is one of them having been blocked and I know they all saw my references to glasses and going Dutch, so I'm easy about that. If they went for a block so be it.

It is actually if the point is having fun pissing around and not just drafting your side, which was supposed to be the reason we were trying this out.
In any case, as I said earlier, I think 24-12-12 is doable as a set timetable, but we certainly need to arrive at a timetable and stick to it otherwise it's going to piss someone off sooner or later for no good reason (and you have to be here all day wondering if the schedule will change, which isn't very manager-friendly, I only just happened to log last night or else I would have found out the first question a couple of hours before the deadline).
Thing is, this ain't a problem at all WHEN all concerned parties are online. If they're not - the stated rules apply. I don't see the problem, really.
Only requirement for this draft is that you need to log in once in 24 hours. That's not going to change with this. And people still have ample time to piss about and discuss options with other managers. It is not like we are having 1 hour rounds. If Aldo reveals now, this one would have been for about 9 hours or so.
I agree, we just need to decide one thing and go on with it.
But, if something like "everybody is here and everybody confirms they're here we should plus Aldo/kps" we should be able to be flexible.
