The First Redcafe Sheep Draft

Is that (another) veto?

No big deal, no. But Antonio Pacheco, the Uruguayan one which anyone would find when researching, is the player to have played the most derbies AND the one to have won the most, and fourth top all-time league scorer here. Also a legend at Albacete (yeah, I know, but still a legend of two clubs is quite something).

A recent book about him was the top seller last year over here:

Juary, on the other hand...

 I'm quite relaxed about it, just wouldn't want "El Tony" being confused for a sheep! It is largely irrelevant otherwise.

Wasnt specifically talking about you complaining about el tony, more like the arguments over laudrap, the bitching over who would constitutes as a sheep or why jay. isnt picking, etc.

Ah, OK. Wouldn't take the sheep stuff as bitching, more like the fun of how things change when the shoe is on the other foot ;) Suddenly Heskey was merciful

The Laudrup thing was ott, agreed, which is why I put Theon on ignored. Bliss, should use that more often.

 I certainly get that. Oh well, it probably comes across a bit harsher on a forum then it would if we were talking.

The entire point of the 24 hours and the 12-12 after is that people can accommodate it all. I see where crappy is coming from with his anxiety, much better than people not giving a shit, but we need to find the balance where we enjoy this, don't get addicted, yet don't lose interest as it drags on.

We could all do with a bit more patience really, and that also goes to those feeling they have other more important things to do right now. Just do them and show up when you can, no point feeling aggravated. The sooner we get used to the deadlines mentally the sooner we will find a good stride for all involved.

One player I really wanted was falcao. Shame the draft limits means he is not eligible. Such an awesome nick.

You could get the other one and play him in midfield. Just can't call him the Eighth King of Rome

Personally I think all this deadline business is crap and I see no logic to change my stance on it.

It is about removing it, just like the allotted 8-12 hours for a draft pick, use it as a fall back but if all picks are in, there is no reason to wait. Makes zero sense really.

So can anyone tell me something about my player?
I might actually play him when I get another sheep

He won the Bravo award, mate. The Bravo award.

But in all seriousness that ain't bad. Other winners include: erm...mostly names I can't mention here. But it's a bloody impressive list. Link to it from his wiki page.

Eight caps (as a defender - for Italy), Serie A champ for Roma - not an awful player by any stretch.

For reference @VivaJanuzaj I have no recollection of Righetti playing rightback, he was a CB afaik. Tried searching around and by all accounts it seems I'm not going senile yet.

I see no problem with moving on if they are all in. What I do see a problem with is:
  1. pushing people into making calls if they genuinely haven't had or can't find the time.
  2. also (and invariably) the deadline for the second attempt should still be tomorrow midnight, for all we know Jayvin may not pop around until tomorrow.
  3. the strain it places on the mods to be expected to be around all day so they can reveal as soon as all votes are in.
It's different people involved at all three levels and I don't think it's healthy (or fair) to have an expectation that they will all bend over backwards so that things run quicker for those who get a wee bit more addicted to constant picking and revealing. It's not a sustainable draft format, at least not one that caters to every potential manager's needs/priorities, you are bound to end with a small bunch of regular players when I think a big positive has been how many posters have been attracted to this.

@AldoPaine18 I'm going to change my pick within the next 5 minutes so don't post the results! And will we be picking from the banned players in the final round?

I see him mainly listed as a CB, indeed. And he is described as having done a job on Rush in the '84 final. I can't say I remember that myself - what I mainly remember about that match was, precisely, the penalty shoot-out.

Sorry @Pippa, but I'm not moving. I was surprised too at how jammy that was. I actually gave no details as I couldn't expect people to be fine with it.

I'm sure you will appreciate that stat isn't easy to search for so, err, let's say "DFB-Pokal".

Whoops. Turns out he had over 600 club appearances.
