There is nothing selectively quoted there at all. The only person who has repeatedly selectively quoted is you, which is why I've had to call you up on it twice already.

And you're off your nut if you think I started this - you quoted me for gods sake. I'm tired of telling you to re-read what happened, because you seem incapable, but to be extremely clear - I made one post, you jumped on it, got upset and started this argument, telling me to read his wikipedia page etc etc... All because you misread a post.

Had nothing to do with misreading. I see the point about the comma, the crux of it remains, you refuse to accept he could be rated so highly and I think you need to watch the Dream Team more. Zico, Rivelino, Sir Bobby, you name them, none of them would have made that possible. It was poetry in motion. Aldo does have a point that he could blow hot or cold over the course of a game, which is exactly what brought it into stark contrast. They were a great side, great to watch when he was on "cold", but the moment he turned it on you would witness football like you've rarely seen before, or since.

No doubt it was a mistake Cutch. The issue though is that he started kicking off, again, for no reason - it was all just made up :wenger:

What a normal person would have done is just admit they misread and were mistaken, then apologised for acting like a dick. Of course, he would never do that.

As you say though, it should be left now. Its clear what happened and he seems to have semi-accepted it.

Look, its clear what happened and it has been posted numerous times now - you misread a post, so started an argument, in which you were incredibly childish and patronising.

The mistake you made has now been pointed out to you three or four times, but instead of being an adult and owning up to it, you've carried on this farce. I have never met anyone so unwilling to admit they were wrong.

Of course this has gone on far too long now, and we really are not going to get anywhere because you're incapable of accepting your mistake. So I think we should leave this here now and get back to talking about football, if that is okay with you.

Not sure what relevance calling you a retard has btw - if you start kicking off an argument with someone over something they never actually said then you can expect some sort of backlash. The solution really is for you to just read what people say before criticising them, as well as generally not being so quick to insult/argue.

It's true that the air of romance with Laudrup is what you would associate with very few others and justified as well. I envy you for being able to watch him week in week out, as when I watched his hour long passing compilation I was jaw dropped the whole time. It was really a thing of art and the audacity of things he pulled off was beyond imagination of most players.

It's natural that you would encourage such players. It's not at all out of place IMO if someone says he's one of the best passers/playmakers/orchestrators ever played, he surely is and was the heart of a great entertaining team. His hot and cold part is a big factor for me when I rate him, tbh. You tend to question "which Laudrup will show up today".

I also think his lack of appreciation/stats etc is because of his unselfishness. I can't think of many modern players who were truly unselfish. There are players who are unselfish but that's because they are not good enough to finish things themselves. Laudrup never had that issue but he himself chose to get the ball to someone who was in a better position due to him creating space or finding a great pass.

There's an issue with that though, because most top number 10s were very unselfish. If you watch games of Maradona, he would always prefer to pass than keep the ball for long. Now given his talent and how complete he was, that was such a big sacrifice on a personal level for him but he did it because what he thought, no one else could. A good #10 cannot be selfish, IMO.

Zico is another player whose playmaking and orchestrating gets overshadowed due to his insane goalscoring. Yes there were games where he played mainly as a second striker and spent the game in and around the penalty box looking to score but when he did assume the role of a #10 and dedicated himself solely to creating chances, how many could better him? Hardly anyone.

I love Laudrup as much as you do, how can anyone not love such a player, so pleasing on the eye and so deadly with every touch. Just that top 5 #10s of all time is really a massive tag given the quality of players who have played that role. Having said that I'm probably going to rewatch some parts of Laudrups's passing video now. :drool:

To be fair, Cafu was his suggestion in the first place. Plus we were gonna go for someone else originally but found out at the last minute he was ineligible. Don't think either of us were feeling too confident with Cafu just before the result was announced...

Having played the 50s draft helped no end with this as I can quickly discard 80s players off the top of my head instead of wikiing the whole lot.

If I were you and had a bit of time, I would be hyping up the mindfeck levels to stratosphere. Maybe a couple of 'innocent' posts in the wait time like "God, I did not expect this player to be banned so soon" or "So, this many sheeps in 2nd round is surprising' and some shite like that.

Make the managers life hell :lol:

Trust me I was really tempted to post such things (specially when Balu changed it in last minute, that was epic :lol:) but I need to be disciplined and not provide any sort of hints to you guys.
