The First Redcafe NBA Draft

I said taking Jordan out of the equation.

He does outscore Kobe. 27 odd career average > 25 odd. He's chasing down all of Kobe's scoring records (in terms of age and in terms of games too).
LeBron is younger though. If we goes until 37 or so (like Kobe did), his average PPG will go lower than it is.

Btw, will the debate take into account also the longevity or just players at their best?

So far.....

Round 1:
1. Skizzo - Shaq
2. Revan - Kobe Bryant
3. Skills - LeBron James
4. NM - Tim Duncan
5. RDCR - Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon
6. Mani - Karl Malone
7. Eboue - Steph Curry
8. MJJ - Kevin Garnett

Round 2:
8. MJJ - Kevin Durant
7. Eboue -

I don't think he is good enough to go in the first round.

I can see it if you look at his peak performances (last 2 years for example). Stats wise for shooting he's practically on his own, and he opens the floor for anyone else placed around him. Just depends how the discussions go in regards to if he's been doing it for long enough or not.

I'm sure Eboue will have some stats to show when it comes time :p

How is Steph any different from Hakeem? Hakeem had only 2 good seasons in the criteria

You're kidding right? He was prominent till 99 season. At the end of the 99 season he was still averaging 19 points, 9 rebs, 2 assists, 1.6 blocks.

Curry is already 28 too, I want to see how he does with a team other than this Golden State team, it's stacked and helps him defensively a lot.

Well yeah everyone tapers towards the end. He started 84-85. So thats 15 years into his career he was still averaging a double double 20 and 10.
I know that's good, but not first round level good.
Edit: IMO Hakeem is a top 10 player of all time, but from 94-99 he wasn't as good as the years before.

Dude Im talking about his lowest scoring and rebounding total that entire decade. From 94-97 he was averaging 25 and 11. If you comparing this to Curry, the later hasn't done anything special that so many PGs haven't don't till now. He was averaging 23 and 7. Tons of PGs averaged that. So is essence Curry has had one good season - this one where he averaged 30 and 7. Going by your logic thats the way to look at Curry.

No I wasn't comparing him to Curry, Hakeem is one of the best players ever, I'm just saying looking at his career as a whole is what makes him considered on of the best, but looking at him from 94-99 makes him just a very good player, not as good as young Hakeem.

@RDCR07 I wanted Hakeem so don't consider it a bad pick at all. I just thought it was strange as is stats do taper off (compared to other first round picks) after two years

Im not considering it a bad pick at all. Thats why Im arguing so much for it. I've picked him first for a reason and when the KO rounds come along I'll make the proper argument as to why I did.

Why the hell did he choose 94-95 season anyway? We should have just moved to the start of the decade from the 91 season. So strange starting from 94 season.

:nono: little late for that, and the picks would have been completely different if so.
