This game has encapsulated the tournaments of both Argentina and France.
Argentina have been here before, sitting on a lead, cruising and suddenly pegged back. Happened against the Netherlands, would've happened against Australia but for Licha making a goal saving tackle at the death.
France, likewise, have looked properly wobbly in several games: Morocco, England, Poland, Denmark etc. However, usually one or two moments of unmistakable quality have got them through when they most desperately needed it.
Game could go anyway now.
PS) Will Di Maria being subbed be looked at as the turning point in years to come?
PPS) Martinez wouldn't have been so easily run in behind as Oldamendi
