Seriously could you enjoy winning the World Cup for a few hours before complaining about refs? It's not like the Di Maria pen wasn't soft itself (and still 100% a pen).
All looked like pens to me. France's third was a bit harsh but by the book it's a pen as well.

Yep just silly defending all round. There's no guarantee ADM, Mbappe's shot and whoever got fouled on France's first, would result in goals. More chances of none of those being goals.

.It was a game that was reminiscent of France through the whole tournament, anonymous for big spells of the game with moments of Brilliance.
Mbappe came in clutch today, 2 bonehead penalties given from Argentina though.

Yeah it's bizarre to be honest, it's kind of like how Maguire looks world class at international level but for united he looks championship level.
I was shocked he put in Acuna instead of Martinez (especially with Frances main aerial threat off the pitch).
I didnr understand having 2 average (at best) lbs on when they could have played a back 5 and seen out the game.

Not the first time that we have said Lloris should avoid conceding a juicy rebound in dangerous areas. It's almost an iconic duo.
What a great final, best WC final I've ever seen. Argentina deserved to win it in the end imo, I'd say they were better for 70-75 minutes, though it changed after that but in extra time they looked more threatening again, other than that absolute sitter that Martinez saved at 120+3 minute.

I won't even blame Griezmann. Argentina made an effort to get him out of the game.
However, despite my earlier thinking of it being more tactical, this game full exposed a few players in that French side.
Kounde, Theo Hernandez, Rabiot, Tchouemeni, Dembele and Giroud. All of them were terrible.
Kounde in overlapping, in defending, in progressing the ball out of the back was just terrible. He provided a terrible outlet for France, which is why the French centre backs kept passing back to Lloris.
Theo Hernandez might be one of the players who struggled with the virus. His energy was low and his touch on the ball was not great. He was way more passive than he usually is, which made it so difficult to connect with Mbappe on the left.
Tchouemeni and Rabiot were terrible. Rabiot was clearly still recovering from the virus, but Tchouemeni really looked poor on the ball. He couldn't get near Argentina's midfield. I noticed the same thing when played with Fofana against Morroco, it feels like Rabiot was doing a lot more covering for him than I had initially though.
Dembele essentially ended his national team career today. Horrible performance, more based on mentality than having low energy. He was the player in the attack that was given room to actually make a difference. Where Di Maria tore Kounde apart, he was just so passive. His concentration was so poor and I can see why a lot of people complained about him. His skill set indicates that he should be as dangerous as Mbappe or Griezmann, yet he just seemed so passive and defeated even before Argentina's penalty.
Giroud's age has been showing for a few of the games. His pressing ability even in the midblock was poor and he was losing duels that he would be expected to win. He was this poor against England, but was able to score and erase the performance. In this game, it was clear that Argentina had such an easy time with him up front.
I would really like to know who in that starting xi really had the virus going into the game. If Tchouemeni, Dembele, Theo Hernandez and Kounde didn't have it, then serious questions have to be raised about them.
I know I'm biased but Romero was incredible at the back today.

Fair enough but it's still abit weird!
The most "unsporting" moment of the game was a dive in the penalty box from a french player but it received far less criticism than the decision for DiMaria (which was practically a carbon copy of the french pen in the second half).
Everyone is entitled to dislike people for the fact they were born on a different rock than them but it's still strange behaviour in my opinion at least.

Overall, it was a poor enough game until that Otamendi brain fart, last 40 mins including extra time was great entertainment.
