The Fifth Redcafe Sheep Draft

Yeah, got 2 lists here - 1 with proper baldies, another with the 'grey' ones.

I'm thinking anything from 4-7 above should count, and 3 with the bald crown. Not sure if 3 with the receding temples should count though.

aye. Many don't have the spot at the back tho, just receding from the front with little on top. Jude Law is somewhere between 3 and 4, without the spot on the back of his head...

This would be pretty challenging round for the mods as there would be plenty of objections I would guess...

Problem is that the bald guys do this and then it isn’t clear whether they are actually bald or simply shaven

Hehe, this is awesome :D

Whoever came up with this criteria, big thumbs up

Just so you are all clear, there are cases of 3 we are letting fly (closer to 4) and cases we are not. If in doubt ask.

Yes, I know we shouldn't be validating picks (and won't regularly) but this criterion, which was meant to be fun, has no clear cut definition we can expect you to follow. Not once we accepted receding hairlines in the mix.

If you ask me, we should rule those out at this stage because some suggestions are taking the piss and I fully expect a meltdown and several pages discussing what should be clear cut (e.g. look at Sir Bobby FFS).

Not me. We love the idea of 16 adults busy at work examining bald spots, maybe ask8ng someone for a second opinion...

Wowzers.

@Moby will be made up? :nono:
Was inevitable really. Half arsed mashed up rules were being implemented on criteria full of grey areas. Expected better from someone like anto who is usually good at foreseeing such contrasts. Having played and modded sheep drafts on multiple sites including the first one here, that modding looked like a recipe for disaster and had no chance of going smoothly.

Jumping ship was a no brainer.

Really? That's why you left? How did blood relative have grey areas?

I'd probably say that the skin should be visible at the back of the head for a player to qualify

Finally someone goes for Ronaldo.

He should have been chosen in the earlier rounds.

The crazy thing is that Dani Alves/Neymar and Stam/Nesta would've made it through uncontested in round 1. Thought that with the Hungarian duo would be the most obvious one in round 1.

aye, I ruled out picking Nesta Stam as soon as I found the link. Felt the most stupid pick to go for along with Matthaus Brehme. Gladly surprised that no one else went for Redondo Seedorf in the first two rounds

Same thought both of those pairs were really obvious.

Just sent my pick in.

It's shocking that so many lesser players were picked before him in round 2 & 3, and since you mentioned it, as I'm not playing, surely makes it much less likely for him to be blocked.
If everyone tried to pick him he would be blocked.

I ruled Seedorf right away as he had another 4-5 links with other players. But then again I made it unnecessary hard for myself with the punishment so couldn't really play around with it much. I don't even mention Matthaus / Brehme cause that was pretty obvious too.

I was a bit surprised that people went with Deschamps when choosing a pair for Desailly.

Agree on Cristiano, I was expecting him to go in the third round, but I guess both of his statues are so hideous that it ruled him out.

The bust is so hideous it probably made us all forget the one with a boner. I had.

He was a shoe-in for Mr. Hollywood, maybe too much of a shoe-in?

It's funny because the idea was those first few rounds would help block loads of GOATs but also give you all a shot at picking one to build a team around. That is, rather than have the GOATs scattered across several rounds and potentially stockpiled, making it possible to spread them around and yet many were so worried about blocks Cruyff and Cristiano stuck around for ages.

Surely his film counts?

That was my first idea when I thot I was in the draft for those few minutes.

Yeah, I had a feeling that everyone would go after Brehme-Matthäus, so I decided to leave that one. That round seemed perfectly set up for tons of blocks, so I had to go for something different.

Yea was just hoping for a shot in the dark with redondo seedorf. Didnt know he had so many links though.

My fav pick of the round was Beara and Zebec. Great pick IMO. Would have been my pick 3 since getting a GK felt safer.

As an interested watcher of drafts (but nowhere near knowledgeable to participate), I've always felt the drafts have been informative and rounds very defined (by category)..... the winner deserves it.

Surely "sharing a pitch" was crystal? How is that "ok, let's move on and forget it" when every previous decision has been 100% by the letter of the rules leading to people missing their choices (rightly) or even quitting (their call, not saying right thing to do)?

Why do you say that?

, now we are left to go back and forth arguing on hair styling and combovers.

I thought it was the spirit of the rule :wenger:

That was my first idea when I thot I was in the draft for those few minutes.

I think it's always your first idea whatever the criteria :D

I don't think it makes much sense to give yourself a sheep in the first round who HAS to feature.

You underrate Cristiano IMO

Look at his impact off the pitch in case he's a sub for the 1st game

What anto said - for me he was such an obvious pick that round that I stood back. So did everyone else, apparently
