The F1 Thread 2014 Season

He will piss the points in normal circumstances, its more of a case of can he do enough to get back to the Top 3. I think he can.

Rosberg will get pole though, its damage control yet again through no fault of his own.

I can just feel that this season is going to be decided on the last race and double points and it will be all wrong.
For me anyway a Championship win with the aid of double points will be tainted.
That would be the final straw for me, I wouldn't be tuning in next season.

Well, with Merdeces dominating the double points might not mean all THAT much. The difference between finishing first and second in the last race would be 14 points. Of course, it could end up with someone getting 50 and someone else getting 0, but who knows. It's silly anyway,

Assuming the Mercedes don't have any more problems, I still think that Hamilton from P14-16 will finish 3rd or even 2nd. In the last couple of races he made up about 4 places before the first turn, and the car is about half a second faster than the rest. No chance he'll catch Rosberg in normal circumstances though.

He can absolutely get 2nd, assuming he doesn't have to take a grid penalty for a gearbox change or anything he could quite easily be in the Top 10 by the end of Lap 1 as the Merc starts are mighty.

He would need some variable weather or a timely safety car to even come close to beating Rosberg from there though.

So many mechanical failure and slow pit stops for Lewis. Bad luck for him, he somehow beats Nico to the title (without that stupid double points nonsense), it'll be bloody deserved.

"Even if something was broken I'd still be driving tomorrow"

Eurgh, no you wouldn't you whopper.

NBC doing what it does best. Delayed coverage of qualifying at noon. Announce results of qualifying at 11.45 during tour de france coverage on the same channel. Fcuking idiots. I made sure to not check any sports sites too.

Figured the gearbox would need changing, I think if you offered him a Top 6 now he would take it. Williams and Red Bull aren't a million miles away from Mercedes here, I think he will have a hard time beating them in normal circumstances.

Rain is popping up though, potentially just around the start time. We actually haven't had a proper wet race since 2012 (they started Malaysia 2013 on inters but it was dry in like 5 laps).

Sky did say yesterday that the gearbox might need changing.
I still think he will get in the points and if the expected rain does happen ( not checked yet) then anything is possible, getting a podium finish is going to be very tough.
He will be like a man possessed getting up the field.
Going to be a good race today, I have a feeling.
