The F1 Thread 2014 Season

God BBC are thick, he meant he got DRS because he ran wide out of the final corner.

Back on for Lewis, win the next race and he will be leading the WDC again.

Another meh race in terms of the win, would have been better to see Rosberg/Hamilton fight it out.

Roll on next season already.

Good race down the pack, turned out to be boring at the front. Feel for Button, McLaren once again getting their tactics totally and utterly wrong.

Great stuff between Alonso and Vettel, great race from Bottas.
Shame for Rosberg

Can I once again have a rant about the camerawork when a race finishes. Every single fecking race when the leader crosses the line, the director then seems to think that what we the viewers want to watch, more than anything else, is the pit crew high fiving and running up and down the pitlane, not the remaining battles that are going right to the line further down the track.

Today, we had Button honing in on Ricciardo, and as it turned out was a fraction behind, but instead we did what we always do, watch the Mercedes garage, get a close up of Niki Lauda's impassive face, and then cut back to the pit crew dancing around again. Yes! Wonderfully interesting!

Do we really need to hear from Hamiltons family? I would much prefer to hear comments from the people actually involved in the race.

What a roller-coaster of a weekend for Lewis. He must've been very low after quali, has now got the dream result.

What a horrible season this is turning out to be for Raikkonen. Massa would've been doing better and I'm saying that as someone who has loled at Massa quite a bit.

I have no idea why Ferrari took him back, nowhere near as good as Alonso.
Should have went with Hulkenberg or a younger driver.

It is starting to look like the end for Raikkonen, new Formula doesn't seem to be gelling with his style. I don't blame Ferrari for signing him at all though, he was superb in the Lotus and Alonso didn't want Hulkenberg in there apparently.

Looking back Kimi was pretty reckless in his driving before the crash on Sunday, didn't lift once.

If they're all using it to some degree then surely they'll all vote to keep it for the remainder of the season?

Unless someone thinks they're less reliant on it and can screw the team ahead of them in the WCC.

Considering the last time they banned a major suspension design, it resulted in the 1994 season and cars flying off the road to inevitable tragedy...

Championship leader Nico Rosberg has agreed a "multi-year contract extension" with Mercedes.

The 29-year-old German tops the standings from team-mate Lewis Hamilton heading into his home grand prix at Hockenheim this weekend.

"It has been a difficult road to get to where we are now, but everybody kept believing and, thanks to the fantastic support from Mercedes-Benz, we are now leading the way in F1," said Rosberg.

He joined Mercedes in 2010.

Hamilton out. He'll start 16th then. Well done Lewis. Doing his absolute best to throw this championship away.

Edit: Looks like it was a brake failure instead. Karma making up for balancing things last race by screwing Hamilton over again.
