The F1 Thread 2011 Season

Hamilton looks safe with that time, can't see the rest getting under 21.1 considering they are in the 22's on their first runs. Saving a set of super softs might be a great strategy call.

BBC Commentators are so fecking biased.. hope sky commentators are an improvement on that aspect atleast.

Button goes 1.20.5 - Martin Brundle: "Wow, what a lap from button - where did that come from?!"

Alonso blitzes it by 3 tenths and goes fastest on 1.20.2 ... "Alonso just does a 1.20.2"

To be fair at the time Button set his lap I think they assumed Hamilton was on the same tyre.

not really noticed that before , they have there fav's yes , but never really heard then be anything other than professorial and I always thought unbiased.

That was a mighty mighty lap by Vettel.

I don't think the Red Bull is the fastest car today. Vettel's made the difference.

Vettel with a good lap. I'm not worried at all, a few races back Red Bull had the best quali car by some margin now its down to nothing and McLaren & Ferrari showed at the last race in the race they can match and beat them.

agreed , Hamilton's car is faster , just that Vettel is that good

Disagree, name a car other than Red Bull that has been on pole? You can't because it hasn't happened. The Red Bull is one of the best cars over single lap pace that F1 has ever seen.

Hamilton vs Vettel into the first corner should be fun anyway, Hamilton has nothing to lose, he's all about winning from now on.

You've just said yourself that the others have all closed on the RB's, so it's not exactly impossible that the McLarens might have a better package here this weekend. As for turn one, isnt the dirty side particularly bad here?

Webber seems bloody demoralised in that interview.

I think they have a better race package, I think Ferrari do too actually but when the fuel drops out and the engines ramp up the Red Bull is still the fastest car but that might not be the case 3-4 races down the line.

Not to say Vettel's lap wasn't great of course. Dirty side is worse but everytime they say that it very rarely makes a differance anyway.

Thing Mclaren and Ferrari have been quicker in terms of race pace for a while.

I expect Hamilton to win this one.

Yes at some point at this rate Alonso or Hamilton will manage it. Probably starting at Monza.

Hamilton will get it at Monza, McLaren always go well there and it doesn't play to RB's strengths, they will struggle there for sure.

Why do people hate vettell? I know him on pole is monotonous, but he seems like a top guy, and gets a lot of unjustified hate. Hamilton to win tomorrow, though I might see if I can get odds on massa, as unlikely as that is

Apparently it's cloudy in Hungary, if it rains then JB to win
