The F1 Thread 2011 Season

If only Webber could drive as good as he talks. I agree with everything he said.

Yes he would be unbeatable , but you cant help but think that he is not the only driver that is thinking like this.
What would happen if the drivers got together and said that they did not want to go , I dont mean a strike , just voiced there opinions.

I don't think it would make a difference if it was just the drivers, if the teams aka FOTA said they wern't happy with going then perhaps it might happen.

Could be heading for another FOTA vs FIA if they do think that.

Anyone else see this super retard trying to hurdle Buemi's Red Bull during a promo event in Japan?

According to Autosport, FOTA have requested a 'delay' for the Bahrain race, apparently siding with Bernie's idea of returning India to Oct 30th and discussing the possibility of adding Bahrain in on Dec 11th.

And Max Mosley has suggested that the Sporting Code of F1 doesn't allow for this sort of calendar fiddling without unanimous agreement from the teams. So all it would take was Hispania or someone saying 'shan't', and there's apparently nothing the FIA can do.

The Bahrain GP has been so badly handled it beggars belief.

I agree , They should of told them that there would be no GP till next season , give them time to sort out there troubles.
I suspect there is mega money involved and both side face losing it.
The Bahrain Gove say that having the GP will unite the country . I am not so sure ,it could inflame an already delicate situation.

Bernie is involved, so yea money will be involved for sure. Stupid fecking troll doesn't walk 5 yards unless someone's putting money is his pocket when he gets there.

whats more interesting is the retard has "staff" on the back of his shirt, what a great example to set the kids

Just seen this on BBC F1 site.

FIA president Jean Todt has said that although Lewis Hamilton escaped punishment over his outburst in the aftermath of the Monaco Grand Prix it might have been better to give him a ban. "He wrote to me and it was between him and the FIA," Todt said. "Maybe it would have been a better decision to send him to the judicial court and ban him for six grands prix or something but for me this thing is over.

A bit over the top a 6 GP ban , yes he acted like a cock and said things that should not of been said but still wanting to ban him , stupid.

Bahrain cancelled.

"Bahrain will not pursue rescheduling of F1 race this season" - circuit statement

Well maybe that's just how Todt felt personally, being an ex Ferrari man and all. Most importantly, he also says '...for me this thing is over.' And that's all that matters now.

Well, Hamilton has been the driver who acted like a real twat on several occasions (on and off the circuit). I just read an article about him and he's one of the least liked characters in the F1 and that he has an agent and promoter working in Hollywood (got it through his girlfriend)....

Last I checked F1 is not a popularity contest. The rest of the grid hates winners, you only have to watch the Senna movie to see how hated he was by the rest of them at some points.

Meh not great but not the end of the world for him, you don't learn much in P1 here the track is just so green.

I think there may be value in a McLaren saving a set of tyres, wasn't last year's race ridiculous on stops on Bridgestones (or at least more than other tracks - nothing compared to this year)

Anyway, I think they (maybe Button) should try and use only the Hard tyres to get to Q3 and then start on the hard tyre and use the sets of softs for the race on a 3 stop strategy.

I think fresh tyres could be massive around this track

Tyres will play a big role this weekend for sure, Canada always cuts tyres to shreds so these new ones will probably really suffer, it could set a new record for total pit stops in a race.
