The F1 Thread 2011 Season

All true but the Harder tyre is close to 2 seconds a lap slower here over a single lap, the teams up front will want to avoid it and do a minimal run on it. Schumacher is taking the gamble by starting on it I think knowing he probably won't challenge the front couple of cars but he gets the tyre out of the way first and will come back towards the end.

Brand new options are quicker than quali scrubbed tyres over the initial couple of laps and tend to last a tad longer. The advantage isn't much but its the difference when cars react to each others pitstops.

You probably couldn't have much of a better position to get some great photos from. The best pictures I got from Monza were on the exit of Ascari, you'll have a good view of them approaching and slowing for the corner, I expect some high quality pictures on your return!

I've been to Monaco quite a lot so know the place well and I also asked seasoned Monaco GP going friends where the best place to watch the GP from was and most came up with M stand....seat is on the back row so there's a possible bonus of a view of the pits too.

Hopefully the pics come out well or I might just have to go back next year.

Why is Practice on Thursday instead of the Friday?

Good grief, this title sequence is more pretentious than The Day Today's. :D

Admirable honesty from Schu there, admitting that he's not as good as he was at 25. I'm not a fan of his but it would have been far more comfortable for him to say 'Yes, I'm as good as ever.'

Yeah but he also admitted Nico Rosberg doesn't have the edge when he clearly does at the moment.

Great to see Peter Schmeichel in the paddock.

I like di resta, fair play to him he gave them a load of time on the grid there for an interview!

Why is Practice on Thursday instead of the Friday?

Monaco has always been a little different...they used to start races 2 hours later than the rest of the European circuit as well.....if I remember correctly Thursday is quite a short track day so they use that day and it means the businesses get back to normal on Friday.

Does he? Perhaps in qualifying but Michael has been every bit as good in race trim. He flogged Rosberg in Malaysia and in China Michael was every bit as good if not better then Rosberg 'he atleast put up a fight to the two drivers that tried to pass him'

Schumacher stuffed up his turkey race position wise, but his pace was every bit as good and would more then likely have finished behind Rosberg during the race.

Stunner of a start from Alonso...took advantage of the Red Bulls fighting it out BRILLIANTLY.

I'm not an Alonso fan but that was an incredible start

If jenson gets stuck behind massa like he did in Melbourne it's going to feck me off big time

4 stop for vettel, he feeds in behind button

Thank feck JB gets past massa at last, webber at the back of the traffic
