The F1 Thread 2011 Season

Hamilton is putting some very good laps in after his unlucky stop.

Alonso has had a fantastic race.

It's clear that if you think one strategy is marginally better, 3 stop vs 4 stop, go for the extra stop, Hamilton had that rubbish pitstop as well

Webber effectively a pitstop behind Vettel today, pull your finger out mate.

I'm sure at some point, someone will get through Q1 and then just start Q2 on fresh hard tyres and see where it gets them

If only the Ferrari's, McLaren's, Mercs and Webber could atleast match Vettel now and again this could be a fantastic season up the front. We will just have to settle for good battles for the rest.

Great race to watch, but I don't like how easy the DRS made some of those moves.

Brilliant driving from so many of them, Seb imperious again but everyone in the points did a very good job I reckon.

OMG OMG OMG Vettel won!!! Who would have thought?!

On a more serious note, good to see Alonso on the podium :D

every time I see Vettel on the podium I want to punch his lights out.
Excellent race for Alonso , pity a wheel nut wrecked Hamilton's race , but I doubt he would of got any higher than 3rd.
Now off to the madness that is the matchday thread.

Thing is Vettel and Red Bull is supremely confident now. Last season they were making mistakes giving others a chance. Now championship behind them they know exactly what to do.

Can't see beyond them really. Vettel will win this with races to spare.

yeah whenever i hear him on the team radio after winning my head fills with rage and i too want to punch his lights out

apart from vettel driving in a world of his own again it was a fantastic race

Just when you think we heard enough of that German national anthem.

i hate the anthem, fecking ridiculously long

Oh heres Horner, theres the off button.

 if Alonso was on this run you'd be loving it

Not really sure about that. After Kimi left I've not really supported anyone wholeheartedly. I like Alonso because of what he did with Renault and I had to support him as he was the only one who could beat Hamiton before Vettel turned up :D

Just watch the film Senna and it was excellent a must see for any F1 fan.
The version I watched was 2 hours and 42 mins.
The film did remind me of lots of thing I had forgot .

His first Monaco race showed just how good he was a driver in the rain and he was robbed of a win , yes the race should of been stopped before it was but in the film it looked like they only stopped it because he was catching Prost.

The Japaneses GP which he was suspended after was just a joke , not sure how the rules were then but to exclude him from the race and so hand Prost the title by default was just madness.
The FIA President at the time Balestre was a idiot and you get the feeling that he and FIA did not like Senna one bit.

His Brazilian GP win in 1991 was just fantastic and to do it after a really bad start when he dropped to 16th and the last few laps he was stuck in 6th gear made it all the more stunning and the sound of 300'000 singing his name , just something else.

His move to Williams was a disaster , all the electronic stuff that made the car good was banned and the car was just rubbish but he was convinced that Benetton still had some illegal equipment on there car.

Watching the last race where he dies still brings a lump to may throat.
I dont think they should of run the race after the Rubins and Ratzenburger crashes ,I have read somewhere that there is a law in Italy that says if somebody dies at a sports meeting the event is cancelled , looking at the pics Ratzenbuger he looks dead in his car , but the official line is he died in hospital.
Maybe I am way of the mark , I dont know.

Tee hee...

F1 driver takes out injunction « Sniff Petrol

The ongoing injunction controversy continued today with news that a mystery Formula 1 driver has taken out a court order forbidding mention of certain aspects of his life.

The driver’s identity cannot be revealed but he is believed to be from Germany and to drive for a UK-based team. The legal order prevents any mention of key elements of the un-named person’s career, specifically anything relating to the 2011 season so far.

The mystery driver, said to be 42 years old and a multiple world champion, is believed to have taken out the injunction in order to prevent a British newspaper from publishing allegations that he had become ‘shit’.

Rumours circulating on social networking site Twitter also suggest that the anonymous driver – said to have a silver car and a brother called Ralf – has been publicly fecked by his team mate.

Those close to the unidentified driver, whose initials are MS, are said to have advised him to break off the unsuitable relationship that is at the heart of the unmentionable and embarrassing rumours.

Formula 1 | Adrian Sutil faces assault allegation | ESPNSTAR.com

Force India driver Adrian Sutil could face police questioning after allegations were made against him of physical assault and grievous bodily harm.

Sutil was reported to have been involved in an incident with Eric Lux, the chief executive of Genii Capital who own the Renault GP Formula One team, after the Chinese Grand Prix on April 17.

The 28-year-old German last week issued a statement in which he confirmed attending a party on Sunday after the race where he "unintentionally injured another guest".

In the statement, Sutil added: "I have unreservedly apologised for this.

"As this is a private matter, which has nothing to do with Formula One, I will make no further public comments on this subject."

Lux issued a statement via his lawyer, Dr Marc Henzelin, a partner at the Geneva-based law firm Lalive, confirming he would be seeking to press charges.

The statement read: "In view of the recent events which occurred in Shanghai on 17 April, Mr Eric Lux has decided to file a criminal complaint against Mr Adrian Sutil for physical assault and grievous bodily harm.

"As soon as the complaint is registered, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the team, Force India, will be notified.

"Furthermore, please note Mr Eric Lux does not exclude commencing an action against any other persons involved in this matter."

I was looking for pictures today with James Allan tweeting shit loads about it, it looks brilliant.
