And people wonder why Alonso gets pissed.

It's not his fault. And Alonso could have easily given the place back to Kubica, it's not Alonso's fault Kubica retired. 2nd time now he's been screwed over by in successive races.
You have to wonder, if that had been Hamilton would a penalty have been given? And if it was given would they have given it as fast as they gave it to Alonso? No way

Kubica now out the race Alonso is one lucky driver will he get punished now.

He's unlucky actually. He could have given the place back to Kubica but with Kubica going out the drive through

But well Webber should win this championship. Would be against the odds, and his team

He should have gotten a small time penalty at the end because like you said he can't give the place back. Hamilton however is irrelevant in this argument, he has been punished just as similar in the past.

Yeah exactly. Alonso's been really unlucky with these penalties.

And the stewards were VERY quick to give a drive through today. Wonder what happened in taking so much time to give Hamilton one last time.

 you brought Hamilton into it on the last page when trying to claim Alonso doesn't get penalised!

Yep, not happy at all.

Lap 35: Alonso overtakes Buemi coming into Village for 15th. There is then a great exchange with his team. Alonso: "No more radio for the rest of the race please, no more radio." Ferrari: "No problem, mate". One word. Seething.

I agree with DC:

BBC F1 pundit David Coulthard: "I think that drive-through penalty for Alonso is very harsh. If he hadn't cut the corner [as he passed Kubica] there was going to be contact. Normally he would simply have to concede the place back. The fact Kubica's car has stopped isn't Ferarri's fault."

Superb by Webber, that Red Bull is a rocketship through the quick stuff.

Webber top class today but great day for Mclaren 2nd and 4th after all the trouble they had with updates.

I love Webber's honesty & i'm pleased he won, just to stick it to Horner & Vettel. He's an adopted Brit from living here for so long. However the pace of that Red Bull today was just frightening.

Good result for McLaren in the end, i'm sure if 2nd/4th was given to them at the start, they'd take it!

I can't wait to hear Alonso in the post race, he'll be throwing toys out left, right & centre.

That BBC tracker was pretty good, useful for the pit stops.

There's a pointed exchange between the Aussie and team boss Christian Horner. Webber: "Fantastic guys, not bad for a number two driver." Horner: "You can smile now.

I would not blame him

He should have done that instantly himself

And your whining about Hamilton is ridiculous when you consider the Kimi incident where Hamilton gave the position back immediately, and STILL got penalised!

It was tough luck for Alonso, but he had it within his own power to avoid all that. Should he escape penalty completely just because Kubica had to retire? Of course not. That the safety car compounded his penalty was just bad luck. But it was his own actions that put himself in that position

He's got nothing to argue about to be honest, he cut the corner & he should have given the place back right away. The fact he asked his team on the radio what the position was on the move indicated he had some doubt in his mind.

However Alonso being Alonso, in that he thinks he's always right, just sped off into the distance & paid the price.

You can say what you like about Eddie Jordan, I love how he doesn't give a shit & ask's the questions that everyone wants to hear at the right time

Should imagine there's a few swear words knocking about as the camera cut away there!

It's not just that he's not scared of asking the awkward questions, it's the way he puts it!

Vettel pretty glum there, pretty clear that theres tensions between him and Webber; wonder who he was talking about when he said you get to know people better and see their true face?!
