The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

Nothing more you can expect from your third team, tbh.
We've got Giroud, Walcott & Wilshere on. How we can't score or create anything against this team is baffling. These three are usual subs for our first team and sometimes even starters.

They can't work their magic, as apart from Jack, none of them are really technical.

Wilshere’s going to need security to get out of the ground safely the way Hartson’s been going on about him

Wow we are so shit
I haven't been following Europa this season. Why isn't Wenger trying to win the thing? Is he really still doing the "let's rest everyone in the cups and still do rubbish in the league anyway" routine?

The bloke is so boring now.

They've 10 points from 12. Even playing fringe / academy players they're coasting the group. It's not right to suggest he's not trying to win the competition when it is the group stage either. This competition is long winded and his priority might change come the knock outs.

I think at the group stages he thinks the kids will be good enough to qualify. I reckon he'll play the first team either when we come across a big team or get to the later stages.

The league has always been boring for Arsenal fans. It's the same nearly every season except for where we finish i.e either 4th, 3rd, 5th and sometimes even 2nd.

He was badmouting the europa league when we won it last year. saying that teams shouldn't have the right to qualify for the CL through it and all. he made the same comment at the begining of this year.

We'll see if he changes his tunes when he'll realize that his team isn't going to get top 4.

As other said, the B team should be enough for the group they have.

This.

Like the Champions League, the knockout stages for this could be a cracker.

You’ve got all the big teams through or nearly through in Arsenal, Lazio, Milan and Lyon coupled with decent European teams like Zenit, Villarreal, Athletic, Marseille, Nice, Atalanta and Salzburg in there too. Then you’ve got the boys dropping down from the UCL in Dortmund, Atletico, Napoli, Celtic, Sporting and possibly Benfica and Monaco.

Athletic is shit this year. Real sociedad much better. Januzaj and Odriozola on fire.

Only need 1 point today to win our group.

I have said it before, but Arsenal should throw everything into winning this.
Their supporters have not had the silverware they would have expected over the past decade, and its a ticket into the Champions League*
Also, Arsenal have such a poor history in European competition, its long overdue that they had some success.

*Does that still apply this season?

I'd kill for an european trophy, as our european record is very poor when it comes to trophies.

No matter how some people try to belittle the Europa, its still the UEFA Cup, and its one of very few European trophies on offer.
Far better to win it than to get knocked out and say it doesn't matter.
I was absolutely chuffed that United won it last year, its all added to the European history of the club.

Good luck to the Arsenal..!!
