The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

Where is the genius, that said I was a knee jerking pseudo expert, because I said the Bundesliga is falling behind in Europe financially and tactically. Now one win in 14 games as Berlin are losing to the financial juggernaut Östersunds from Sweden. Germany has won less international European club competitions in the last 20 years than Portugal, Russia, Italy and FC Sevilla.

3-1 Zenit. Real Sociedad have faded away after a good start to the season.
Great come back by Steaua. They lead now.

That defending. 4-4 is looking likely at this point

I'm in Bilbao watching their game on TV in a bar. Christ, they've gone to shit! Awful stuff. Glad I didn't bother getting a ticket now.

Also, when the barman learned I was a united supporter, he started playing Leeds songs off YouTube on the PA. He also told me that Herrera was shit, because "he is fecking a Spaniard". Nice guy.

I'm glad we won the EL, but it's weird looking at who's playing now. We did not belong there.

The defence is weird. Their best RB is injured, their RCB from last year is just getting over cancer, the kid Nunez who replaced him isn't playing and he hasn't picked his usual LB, Balenziaga. Aduriz is either brilliant or might as well not play. Bilbao can have slow starts to
their season, but I expected a lot more in the EL. I am really disappointed. That result at Malaga seems to have knocked the stuffing out of them or their new manager.

Oh and they have Valencia away at the weekend, so a bit worried. Last season I wasn't. This season I am.

Zorya, Red Star, Konyaspor, Lazio, Steaua Bucarest, Nice, Ostersunds, Viktoria Plzen, Rosenborg, Red Bull and Zenit all win as well.

Everton lineups

Bundesliga teams really struggling in Europe.

Saw a stat that said it's currently 1 win in 14 games this season.

Serie A overtook the Bundesliga last night in 3rd place the UEFA coefficient ranking & Hertha and Koln have just lost today. It doesn't really matter anymore unless France overtake Germany too but they're way behind.

I think it's a possibility England could top the coefficient this year. The league looks a shoe in for second at least again but Spanish sides are doing poorly as well this year. Of course Real and Barca could make the difference in the latter stages of th CL.
