Bollocks. Depends on how you use him, though. He's a better footballer than both those, easily.

:D I guess half logic is better than before.
I rate Varane really highly but he's done nothing to prove his worthy of being ranked higher than one of the best Dutch defenders of all time. Not even a starter in RM.

have no idea why ancelotti prefers pepe, nourinho loves varane and he is a pretty good judge of defenders. dude has it all, pace, power, technique, touch and good anticipation. will be regarded amongst the all time greats when he finishes while de Boer has always performed better in a 3 man defense.

Good thing we'll use him in a 3 man defense than.
I don't doubt Varane will become an all time great but he's not there yet and not even close yet

Has to be born before 01/01/1985.

That's how I'd read it, anyway.

And the Aldair pick - much as I approve of it - wasn't the stroke of genius I thought it was, now that I recall he played for Benfica, if only for a season.

That sounded weird. The last comment, I mean.

Not as per common understanding of the phrase, I'd say.

If you're born 00:00:01 on the first of January 1985, you're born AFTER 1985.

You need to be born in 1984 not to be born after 1985.
 
For some reason i took it as before 1985 as well and actually dismissed players who met the criteria.
